I was factory resetting my Windows as my system was getting pretty cluttered.

I'm not sure when it turned off, but it definitely got past 96%. It's possible it finished before the issue started.

Unfortunately, I came back to a laptop that doesn't turn on or charge... or anything. It's a fancy brick at the moment, is there anything I can do?

No way a Windows reinstall bricked it. Try plugging in monitor and boot it. If there are no lights, pull the battery and plug it in again. If that does not work run it on AC only no battery. If you have a non removable battery, put a paperclip or needle in the hole under your notebook that has a lifting battery sign. Try mashing Delete or F2 to get in to the BIOS while booting.

If the above doesn't work, try leaving it on the charger for a few days. Worst case scenario, something died/ DC/IN jack became unsoldered (depends on laptop model)

Thank you for the help guys! I’ll give that all a try when I get back home. The machine is a Clevo P750 that I have had for about 4 years now. It’s possible it just died, but I want to make sure... because it ran beautifully prior to kicking it.

Unfortunately, none of those tricks work. I’ll try leaving it plugged in for a few days... but I think she’s a goner :(. It’s a bad time to be in the market for a new laptop with the next GPUs around the corner haha.

Try pulling the hard disk(s) and all but one stick of RAM at a time.

Try removing the CMOS battery too, there is a small chance it's a built up static charge floating a pin somewhere but it's more likely a hardware issue that you will need your reseller to investigate.

Can I just take the cmos battery completely out? Or do I have to replace it or something?

Take it out, it just keeps the bios clock and settings.

If you're getting zero response from the system at all (No fans, no lights, no beeps) I'm guessing DC in or mobo is the problem.

I'm betting it's hardware failure, sorry to say - likely a dead motherboard.
