    Hi Guys,

I am kicking around the idea of replacing my current MSI laptop with a new Clevo P750DM, however I am having trouble tracking down information on whether the P750DM supports switching graphics cards to allow for better battery life.

Presently my MSI has the option (button next to the keyboard) to swap between the Nvidia 980M and the on CPU die Intel graphics - the laptop reboots and bam you are running on the other graphics "card".

Is this possible with the Clevo's as well, natively or via another "simple" solution?

    Thanks in advance all!

No. P750DM comes with a desktop CPU, so even if switching is supported it won't be very helpful.

However, the other Clevos that come with mobile CPUs and chipsets do, and you don't need to reboot.

Why do you want to replace the 980M MSI? The Clevo won't be much better if your primary concern is gaming.

P750ZM does not support optimous technology, but P650 does support it.

Usually when you are looking around at different models, if it supports Optimus then it is typically mentioned somewhere in the tech specs on most sites I've seen. If you have a GT72, that is one of the few models I can think of where it has a dedicated button to switch between graphics cards like that.

Nearly all Clevos sport Optimus. Currently only the desktop counterparts (P750, 770, and 870) and models not touting NVidia graphics don't.
