How do I fix this? I took this entire laptop apart trying to fix it and no dice.

What all did you attempt in fixing it? Can you give us a little more info and we might be able to give some advice on it. Thanks!

Internal speakers or external speakers? What have you tried so far?
-
External? My external monitors are built better than any laptop out there
I have done a complete tear down of the laptop, used air can to remove any dust or hair or anything that might interfere with the speaker. Looked for any loose plastic or fitting. Actually did this twice, and no dice.
Been told subwoofer may be defective so will try disconnecting that later. -

Just pieces to the puzzle.
Had it been on external, that would yield different troubleshooting.
Haven't heard of the sub causing that. Reload the audio driver and consider removing Sound Blaster if you're using it. Which OS are you running? -
Considered that. Only use Realtek drivers from Clevo's site. Issue persists on both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. I'm hoping it is the speakers/subwoofer and can just have the parts replaced.

If it comes to that, thankfully they're easy to swap out. Let us know how things play out! -
Would you consider not using it ? I have some buzz too that I can hear when everything is relativly quiet. But I only use headphones via usb soundcard so I can turn off speakers in device manager. The buzz is immediatly gone, but that disables the headphone slot on the laptop too though ...
I would have returned it, but I noticed too late because at the beginning I had an HDD inside that was louder than the buzz and later I started using the external soundcard (Fiio Olympus 2, its pretty nifty). Now that I noticed it with SSD and super quiet system, I can only RMA it which I dont want since this is my main system.Last edited: Oct 21, 2015 -
I have a few mid-tier headphones, (AT AD900x, AKG K712 Pro, AKG 553 Pro, Shure SE215) and pair of JBL Pro monitors. But I also like using laptop speakers when I'm just chilling away from monitors and I don't want headphones on.
It's a $2000 laptop, there shouldn't be any buzzing from any part of the laptop other than hum of HDD/SSDs. -
and there is a buzzing in all of those headphones you have tried? I know I got a cheap pair of ear buds just to see how I like that style and they have like a slight sound of like being in a windy area but any other headphones I have tried worked perfectly find so it was just the cheap air buds I got that were the cause....have you opened a support ticket with your vendor? If not I suggest you do that maybe they can help you. Good Luck
-
No, the issue is, the systems speakers make buzzing as long as its enabled in device mananger. Even if you plug in your headphones, you can hear the buzzing from the systems speakers, unless you use closed headphones (which are less comfortable, but you simply cant hear most sounds anymore).

oh okay sorry about that then, yah I would contact your vendor I have a different system (specs in sig) but I am pretty sure it has the same speaker and I have never had that problem so something is definitely. It could also be a software problem so you could try formatting or reinstalling windows.....have the speakers always done that since you bought it?
-
I personally dont care anymore, but the OP prolly should.
-
Does unplugging AC-adapter and ethernet cable solve it? If so, then it's a ground loop issue.
-
Why don't you RMA? You have warranty... Get them to replace your speakers or motherboard to fix the problem instead of whining and *****ing about it here...
-
yes RMA'ing it might be the best option because your SSD shouldn't be buzzing it should be silent, and your speakers should only produce the sound you are wanting them to produce.i_pk_pjers_i likes this.

Just tried it out for funsies, you can hear the buzzing during boot, so it doesnt seem OS related. Once Windows login loaded, it stops since I disabled that device.
For testing I enabled it again and disconnecting Lan and Power doesnt make it stop, rather slightly louder Id say. Perhaps something else changes when it switches to battery mode. -
Remove battery then and run on adapter only. Disable microphone as well.
Kinda hoping for a Xeon+SLI Quadro model, but that's a year away ...Omnomberry likes this. -
You can definitely hear SSD hum. There isn't any you can't hear if you listen carefully.
Don't worry about my RMA. I already have a solution speaking with LPC, best Sager/Clevo reseller. -
Disabled mic and removed battery, still buzzing.
-
As suspected, buzzing noise was from a defective speaker. Been replaced and finally no more buzzing, wonderful.
For laptop speakers they do sound good. For future buyers I would suggest you ask your reseller or builder to test the speakers at full volume with a movie with plenty of gunfire/blasting noises to make sure the speakers are kosher, no buzzing. -

Glad it was resolved fairly easily.
I'll have to tell my team that, about the movie suggestion for testing speakers. "Guys! More Die Hard, less Wuthering Heights."
