    Hello there,

There have been a few threads around but I didn't really find an answer to my question.

I am thinking about upgrading my GPU from the current GTX 1080 to a RTX 2080 or even 2080 Ti. Now I have read that the power usage with a 2080 would be limited to 150W - would that mean that I won't get any advantage at all?

The heatsink contact surface of the GPU is aluminium, right? Otherwise I would wonder if liquid metal would make sense?

I'm happy with my 7700K (delidded/liquid metal) so there's no upgrade needed. But my 4K screen often screams for more fps.

Contact surface is bare copper. There is no mobile 2080 Ti, the 2080 is around 200W IIRC.

    Thank you.
So if I understand that right, I'd have to install a modded BIOS (or does the stock one work?), new heatsink and I could use liquid metal for it?

You need a modded system BIOS and a heatsink for it from the TM series if it fits.

It's more the clock limit of 2100Mhz.

Will vary chip by chip what they need to get there but it's a hard clock limit rather than power or voltage.
