I'm having trouble sourcing a 4K 17.3" replacement LCD. I originally thought I just needed to replace the LCD cable, but it's the screen itself that's intermittent.

HWinfo reports the screen as AU Optronics B173ZAN01.0
    https://www.panelook.com/modelcompare.php?ids=25358

(Thanks to joluke and Tech Junky for help with this).

I haven't found any UK stock of this (or any 4k) panel at any sensible price from any supplier with good feedback. It generally appears to be out of stock, with no alternative available.
    eg:
    https://www.laptop-lcd-screen.co.uk/shop/CLEVO-P775DM3-G-17.3-UHD-LAPTOP-SCREEN__212521.asp

    https://www.laptopscreen.co.uk/B173ZAN01.0-screen-part-number.htm

Perhaps from France, when back in stock, but probable problems with importing to the UK now since Brexit.
    https://www.pro-lcds.com/en/au-optronics/1290538-672500-b173zan010.html#/4-finition-matte

ebay has some at rip-off prices

Most are saying they will ship compatible but not identical parts. Any model 4k screen in the p7xx range should fit. Notebook check would list some that came out (I don't remember the models off the top of my head) but the TM models will more likely be around.

Yes, but be aware, that not idendical type will be resulted in loosing gsync. If you do not game on the machine it is not a big deal, however for gaming especially for 4k, g-sync is essential due to lower fps.

    Thanks folks!
Fortunately I have been able to source the exact model, so no problem about g-sync. I'm not gaming, but smooth rendering is also important for the VJ software that I use ( Magic Music Visuals).

I have ordered from https://www.kreplacement.com/ (thanks to Tech Junky for the suggestion - see my linked post)

The quoted price was $259.00 USD to include insured FedEx shipping to the UK. With PayPal's currency conversion fees, I paid £194.28.

Obviously there may be VAT/duty/fees on top. I'll report back on my experience.

Little higher than I would have guessed but, an exact model w/o any fuss is always better than having to return and order somewhere else. They do really nice packing on their shipments as well to protect the panel. A good 2-3 inches of bubble wrapping and several cling layers around the panel to keep it from moving during shipment. It will take about the same time to unwrap it as it does to install it :D

Thanks again for your kreplacement.com suggestion. Their service was awesome: Very quick response to my query, in perfect English. Easy PayPal payment and email when the screen was dispatched. Tracking was perfect thoughout and the screen arrived this morning - 8 days after my order (no extra charges). All installed and working perfectly now. I was amazed at the rigidity and protection offered by the packaging - it took me twice as long to extract the screen from the packaging as it took to install it!

It will always work at least, internal G-sync does require vbios/card support and bios support.

Attempt to collate info in other threads:
As far as I recall I didn't find the screen listed on the kreplacement website. I emailed them ( [email protected]) with the following

    Please quote for the following, including shipping to {my full UK address}
AU Optronics B173ZAN01.0 (Hardware ID: AUO109B)
17.3" UHD 3840x2160 laptop LCD panel
    https://www.panelook.com/modelcompare.php?ids=25358

    They replied
We have 2 items of the exact screen number B173ZAN01.0 in stock currently.
To UK, it costs 259 USD/each piece by FedEx Express from Hong Kong, which takes about 5 to 9 days to be delivered.

I ordered my 40-way replacement cable 6-43-P7751-020-1L from ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOR-CLEV...EEN-CABLE-6-43-P7751-020-1L-Cdja/274400916635 . It worked fine (once I had replaced the screen). Only later did I find the P775DM3-G service manual* which lists the LCD cable with a slightly different suffix, -020 -N vs -020 -1L, (manual p54 Fig A-4 LCD (AU) Assembly drawing, item 23).

I suggest you also ask kreplacement if they can supply the cable.
    *see also my thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...eplacement-instructions.835404/#post-11079545

Please note Meaker@Sager's comment above " internal G-sync does require vbios/card support and bios support."

If it came with GS and the Panel is whitelisted for GS then it will have GS.

If it has G-sync - check
Then G-sync will work if the EDID of the new panel is whitelisted for G-sync

Basically there's a list of panel models. Let's say it includes A, B, C, D, E but, there's a new option that came out after the list was compiled say it's F. If you put in F it won't G-sync unless you're able to hack the whitelist to add it.

If you select a known working G-sync model of panel then it should work w/o much fuss after install. Getting a list of the models that are compatible with the whitelist can be difficult as they tend to not be published but, insiders can provide the information.

As we've said in several places, the panel is definitely G-Sync compatible and is a model originally fitted to a Clevo P775DM3-G.

I don't think your screenshots give enough information. The Video BIOS version is not shown. You can find it using HWINFO64 by expanding the Video Adapter category.

We can see from your screenshot that G-Sync works with an external monitor. Does it work with your laptop screen?

Ok, so then if you had G-sync on the internal panel when yours shipped, make sure you get the latest BIOS from your reseller and it should be ok to swap to that panel and keep G-sync.

I have the latest version of the dsanke bios mod, the notebook I bought here used.

    Bios Mod:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...clevo-laptops-rtx-cards-now-supported.825558/

    Notebook purchased here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/fs-clevo-pm775dm3-g.832194/

As you can see below from the images the g-sync with the original panel works perfectly, I wanted to change the display to 4k and also have the g-sync.

    PS:
Now I think I have entered all the information regarding my Clevo P775DM3-G or at least for what I know, if you need some other info I will try to insert it.

The thing to consider with mods is that the supported panel list will depend on the base BIOS used to build it. That BIOS had a white list of certain panels. The maker will have to confirm that.

If you are using a BIOS from them that will be correct, yes. If you have your own BIOS flashed it may or may not match. It depends on the donor system for the firmware. EG P750DM3 systems with 9xxx series CPU BIOS are often based on a P750TM BIOS so they share the G-sync whitelist with the P750TM model.

I have the bios mod dsanke is there a danger that it does not work?

    we're at a dead end again. :(
If anyone knows which 4k-sync panel I should buy please tell me, so we avoid making endless threads.
But wait a moment if the original panel works correctly with g-sync there is still hope that the panel suggested to me by Dream Machines will work.
And then this part number (6-50-N1240-G00) which panel does it correspond to?
