Do you really believe 64 GB ram would actually be put to use? Also 4tb of HDD and 2 tb of SSD's do seem to be adding heavily to the price. Of course if you want that much storage then so be it.

I personally would configure the same laptop at Mythlogic for 2900$
    Core i7-6700
    16GB (2 x 8GB)
    GeForce GTX 980
    Crucial MX200 500GB
1TB 7200 32MB Cache SATA Notebook Hard Drive
    Windows 10 Home 64-Bit

You could upgrade to the 6700K and the 980 SLI and still get it for 3200$.

In my opinion your laptop seems to be a huge overkill with a lot of investment in non core parts. But again that is just my two cents about it.

the 64 GB of RAM is for bragging rights only, I only use around 4 GB to 8GB max

As for the storage, the 2 950 PROs in RAID will be for installing the Os on a 300 GB partition and the 600GB partition for installing games and a 100GB partition for over-provisioning

As for the 2x2TB 5400 RPM HDDs in RAID 0 (total of 4TB) those will be used to store my libraries, documents, music, pics, and my huge videos library

Well like i said, if you really need that much space then so be it. Just felt it was adding heavily to your system cost. And 700$ for bragging rights seems a bit too steep for me. If that's your thing then so be it.

I like having the extra RAM just in case I ever did need it one day. Since I lie in Dubai, ordering these kinda things takes ages and the hassle of dismantling the system and installing them so let it be this way from the start.

    Thanks bro.

Can you post your 3DMark benchmark? Not only Firestrike but the full tests including Ice Storm, since you have the same GPUs, I wanna know what to expect :D

also, does anyone happen to know what exact screen model is this that comes with this laptop and what is its refresh rate??

I'm in the middle of moving so my laptop is packed up or I'd do a run for you.

I can't help you on the model but most G-sync displays are overclocked panels running at 75hz

    A lovely setup @Matrix Leader
Most likely I choose the desktop Gtx 980. It will be cheaper for me right now. Gtx980m Sli is a bit old. Want to use the saved money from Gtx980m Sli on possible new Nvidia card for SLI which might be launched later(2016). G-sync becomes mandatory since 4K not have this feature. Only 2x M.2 SATA SSD (RAID Configuration) and no extra ssd's or other unnecessary things.

    Multicom Kunshan P870 Killer-Edition 17.3"
Unlocked and Overclockable 6th Generation "binned" Intel Core i7-6700K Quad Core Processor, 4.0 GHz (Max Turbo Frequency Oc'd 4.6GHz:p)
Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra 100% Metal Thermal Interfac... As usual :p.
    Genuine Windows® 10 Pro, 64bit. Because of those ssd's(but I hate it anyway :().
    Operating System Reinstallation Media
GTX 980 8GB GDDR5 desktop card. Shall OC this card max before a new card in Sli being launched :p
17.3" 1920x1080 IPS FHD (16:9) LED Antiglare Matte Type Display w/ NVIDIA G-Sync Technology
    32 / 64GB Dual Channel DDR4 at 2133MHz or higher .
    RAID 0 (striping)
2x512GB M.2 SATA SSD (for RAID 0 configurations)
    660W AC Power Adapter :p (supports 100-240V) - 2 x 330W
    converter box
    Intel® Wireless-AC 8260 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n
No need to purchase additional expensive warranty. I buy this monster in Norway. Nice free 5-year national warranty that is much better than everyone else's warranty.
Want to upgrade this monster with newer Nvidia card that comes later.
    Total Price: +/- $3600 More $4000 I think:D

The heatsink on the 200W 980 is a lot different by the way, it will make switching to SLI potentially more difficult (you will need a cable and heatsinks).

wouldve been surprised if ram support on prema mod wouldve been anything less than 2667 mhz, especially considering that the previous gen haswell clevos already had up to 2667 mhz ddr3 support thru premamod! not that there are any sodimms capable of reaching those clock speeds, but hey, always a nice thing to have! :D

Where there is a tweaker there is a way Jaybee :D But yeah, you will certainly be able to saturate your CPU so that memory bandwidth REALLY is not a problem.

Working on the teardown and repaste video. Might have it up this evening.

so I just emailed Ted after reading a review about the 950 Pro SSDs asking him if they could install thermal pads on my two 950 Pros that I ordered with my system as these SSDs tend to throttle when they build heat and surprisingly he emailed me back saying that they do this by default anyway as they are aware of this issue.

so far I am very pleased with HIDevolution they know what they are doing

Yes, the M.2s have been shipping with pads on clevo systems since the slot was introduced.

Even if you don't get the drives with the system you get the pads.

I believe by default it is UEFI but you can change it to legacy if you want to install Windows 7 but I haven't used Norton Ghost in more than 10 years so I don't know how well that works. Macrium Reflect works with legacy and UEFI and now even supports NVME SSDS

I neither earn a dime by saying this (or any of their sales, or the review for that matter) nor do I make things up.It's just sharing information and they in fact are shipping their first batch as we speak. I have no idea about the size of the first batch, but after all they are Clevo's Partner since over 25 years...

I understand that completely Prema, I'm not in any way saying that you were making things up or questioning your integrity at all.

I know that our chassis are dispatching in a couple of days and that none have shipped thus far to anyone else. The only chassis that have been shipped from Clevo are samples.

They will be shipping in the next couple of days :)

I wonder how long i can recive my order if i going to order at Black Friday? And if i choose PSU 330W, is that enough for GTX desktop version without any issue of throttle or not?

I highly recommend you get the 2x330W PSU - 660W like I did to avoid such issues especially if you plan on overclocking.

You can contact HIDevolution Sales I am sure they can send you the upgraded power supply separately if you don't want to buy the laptop from them.

If iam not overclocking so 330W PSU is enough for GTX desktop ver? Or i must buy a couple PSU 330W for sure it not throttle? Because i scare that gpu will use too much power :(

I am not the best person to ask here as this is my first CLEVO laptop. But I always go for the largest PSU I can find.

Mind you, on my Alienware 18 before I had a 330W CPU + 4940MX Extreme CPU + 32 GB of RAM + 2x 780M GTX in SLI mode and 330W was enough so I don't know maybe it is enough, you could always try. Or create a new thread to get others' attention to get better replies.

Start up and try again. This monster is made for overclocking. This isn't BGA junk aka Aw-Msi or Asus :D

I will be posting a video review when I get it.

Can you not order one from them , base model and then slowly upgrade it after selling your current laptop?

We all know how super easy it is to upgrade this beast. Base model starts @ 2K I believe from HIDevolution and if you contact Ted the sales manager he may be able to offer you some discount.

All of us performance enthusiasts must jump onto the Phoenix bandwagon ASAP :D

EDIT: I just looked at your laptop specs that's one heck of a beast man,you won't notice a mind blowing difference just by a few more MHz from the desktop Skylake CPU since you already have two 980Ms in SLI, but still, if you can manage to get one it would be nice
