Okay, I see that one have version of 185W and the other the 200W version, however equal performance, is 185W version a revision?

It means that the 185W version could be done sli?

Well... Clevo P870DM - G is the only model in Clevo that can have dual gpus, however, I am not sure the laptop is capable of having TWO GTX 980 in SLI. (Either 180w or 200w). First, GTX 980 that Clevo uses is 180 and 200w, and P870DM - G has 330w power brick. Which means that if you use two GTX 980 in SLi, it will use more power than the power brick can handle. You can use two 330w power brick, but I've heard some rumors that two 330w power brick does not work like you using 660w power bric. Also, the only laptop that has GTX 980 SLI is MSI GT80 Titan, but it was 120w GTX 980, which is only 20w higher than regular GTX 980m, and the performance is about 5 % higher than regular GTX 980m. So, if you are dying to have GTX 980 in SLi, I can't stop you, but I personally think that it is not worth it. Moreover, I think Clevo has to update their bios and create the new barebone, in order to squeeze both two GTX 980 and i7 - 6700k because P870DM -G is having hard time to cool that GTX 980 and i7-6700k at the same time.

Right, the P870DM is not capable of 2x 980 cards. 2x 980m is the highest SLI config it offers.

i think P775DM looks cooler. But i would like to choose P870DM if their prices are close, for P870DM is stronger.of course it is heavier.By the way,the horn of P870DM is much better.

Do you plan on doing any overclocking? I am guessing that the P870DM should be able to go farther than the P775DM in that situation. In theory, the P870DM should also run a little cooler than the P775DM due to its thicker chassis and third fan, but reviews seem to show otherwise...

    Nop, not SLI or overclock.

Although rumors suggest that pascal 1080 will have a TDP of 175W, it's possible that nvida may not wait to get a mxm version.

    Thanks for the responses

@artichok Yup the U716 (P775DM) is a smaller and lighter chassis, also cheaper than the U726 (P870DM), mainly because it doesn't have the second MXM slot. In reality the performance is virtually the same between the two card versions, so if you're not looking for LSI you can choose either based on aesthetics, if the 800g saving is beneficial to you and so on.

At stock it is a small difference, it's the same chip after all. The extra cooling in the larger machine just means you can play a bit more with the clocks.

You have other options with the P870. You can run a single of the desktop cards or two 970s to end up at about the same performance. Going the desktop means you don't have to hassle with SLI issues, the 970s are cheaper. You'll be good to go now and are gambling on being able to move to Pascal/Polaris later. This is a win if it works, good performance now, you get longer legs on the laptop, and will have higher performance in the future than can now be realized. I've made this gamble myself, we'll see if it pays off.
