    Hello.

my english is not good so i use a translator. sorry for that. i have a clevo p870km and want to install a rtx 2070. my question is, is my notebook compatible with the gpu? i know that my notebook was with clevo and got a bios update so that i could use my i7 9700k, and clevo told me the notebook is now also compatible with rtx gpu. A GTX 1070 is currently installed, with the T cooler, i.e. the better one. does the cooler also fit the rtx 2070? or does the cooler have to be adjusted? Thank you for your answers.

    greetings Dennis

does the bios have to be flashed? I wrote that my notebook was with clevo, a new bios was installed, and clevo told me that my notebook now also supports rtx cards.

The performance increase from a 1070 to a regular 2070 is rather modest and not worth it imo, I would at least go for the 2070 super or a 2080.

Or why not wait and see what the latest generation of mxm card brings to the table unless for some reason it is already known that these will never work in your model? An RTX 3070 with up to 140 Watt should give you a very nice performance boost especially at QHD or higher resolutions.

I'd agree and wait and see a bit.

Thank you for your answers. I had now got a GTX 1080 cheaply. this runs without problems and I am very satisfied with the performance.

i held off for now from upgrading to a gtx 1080. staying on a gtx 1070 right now.
What i did do however is order a proper Heatsink albeit used from china. :)

I Just hope that the new Clevo Cards with RTX will at least have high Wattage to actually perform better than a Gtx1080 Cuz as it stands what we have been seeing right now is chopped up 3070 and 3080 mobile gpus that perform rather close to the 2080 / 1080 high wattage mxm variants.

    The increased cooling alone matters.
