Hello everybody
I have a Clevo P950ER/EP6 for 2 years.
Here are some specs of it
- Intel Coffee Lake (Core i7) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz with Intel® UHD Graphics 630 (CFL GT2)
see https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...-8750h-processor-9m-cache-up-to-4-10-ghz.html
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gtx-1060-mobile.c3016
- LCD Screen EDID: AUO Model 70ed / B156HAN07.0
https://www.panelook.com/B156HAN07.0_AUO_15.6_LCM_overview_35106.html
https://www.panelook.com/B156HAN07.0_AUO_15.6_LCM_parameter_35106.html
The LCD Screen is 40 pins, 144Hz, IPS & FHD (1920x1080) resolution.
My question is the folwwing:
I need a replacement for this LCD, but I don't find the model I have currently.
So, I search a compatible screen
On https://www.laptopscreen.com/, all models for P950ER/EP6 are aot of stocks,
Same things, if I search for AUO B156HAN07.0.
I'd like test with a LCD screen for P950HP6, witch is a laptop model very similar to mine.
So, this one
https://www.laptopscreen.com/French/model/Clevo/P950HP6/
(choose UHD, 40 pins and matte via the buttons)
The "concern" here, it is an UHD with 3840x2160 resolution screen.
I open a ticket on https://www.laptopscreen.com/, to ask the support team, and, the answer was quite "elusive" IMO (meaning nor emphatically, NO neither emphatically YES, but a halway answer).
So, before I buy this screen, I'd like to know if somebody here, could precise me, if the screen can YES or NO be compatible with my latop, knowing the specs?
Thanks for reading me.

There are places like this that will do "compatible replacements":
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402804988945?hash=item5dc90c5c11:g:if8AAOSwJthd8jAE
That will work it's just pot luck on the exact panel you will get. -
I used kreplacement.com for my system after running into several dealers that wouldn't ship exact model ordered and a coupe of returns due to the same. KR worked with me to get the exact model I was looking for and the edp cable I needed to swap due to going from 30P to 40P on he panel side.
I'm running a different model but, the UHD630 / GTX1650 will power a 4K panel as that's the upgrade I did.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/nh58raq-np6855-screen-upgrade-experience.833976/ This has a list of the panels I was looking at. -
I'd like to avoid a new AU Optronics/B156HAN07.x Screen because I have poor experience with this brand.
This is the 2nd time, I need to replace the LCD screen on my laptop, due to white bright marks that appear on the screen after several months of use.
First time I changed it was 1 year after buying laptop, under warranty, this time, so, no charge.
But now, I have to pay. I don't want to buy screen, each year of use.
AU Optronics/B156HAN07.x will be the last choice.
Thanks again for your help -
I'm going to read this post and see what I can learn and do.
My nVidia Card is GTX 1060 M - MAX-Q, and yes, it can power 4K panel I guess -
Re,
I see NE156QUM-N66 - 4K/60hz has no mounting brackets..
how did you mount your panel??
The panel I have in my machine have "integrated" (in one peace) mounting brackets ... can't remove them to use with another panel -
My OE panel didn't have mounting brackets thus it has sticky tape holding it to he lid.
If your model has brackets then you would ideally go with one that has them for screw mounting to the lid. Usually matching up the outline size provides similar mounting options to the OE panel. The easiest way to figure out your existing panel is to download HWINFO and it will pull the info for you.
https://www.hwinfo.com/download/
Once you have that you can get panelook.com comparables and drill down to the specific models that fit and have the features you're looking for. -
OK,
I had looked to panelook.com, I have very bad few choices, BUT NOW I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM
Yesterday, I changer frequency screen from 144Hz to 60Hz. All OK, no problem (I don't konw if it has relation with the current problem).
This mornay, I close the lid (I precise: in this case, the setting is to: shut off the screen, not suspend) for a few instants, and, back, I reopen it!
NOTHING!! All black.
I force a reboot (ALT + IMP SYST + B), nothing!
I shutdown the PC, plug off all things, USB, power cord, etc and get into PC to: disconnect battery - disconnect CMOS battery for 3 minutes, apply electrical reset bu pushing power button during 1 minute. Reconnect all stuff, try to boot PC and: ALREADY NOTHING IN THE SCREEN.
- Screen is black and I think there's no backlight
- No key work even CTRL + ALT + SUPP
- PC boots with fan noise
Thats' all!
Anybody here to help please, this is the mess! -
If you had any backlighting it would have come on with a reboot. -
Hello, Tech Junky.
I can't believe that!! a piece of ****, very little component on the board (PCB) of the screen was destroyed when I closed the lid!!
See my photos attached!
In fact, I didn't fully close the lid !! UNBELIEVABLE!
SO!! Now, I really need a screen replacement, I'm in the rush!Attached Files:
-
-
-
Niet, didn't pull aprt anything!!
I just closed the lid, and let it open at 15% approx., that's all.
I'm just blown!
When I came back, I opened it normally, and BIM! ... black screen. -
But, to say all things I'm really disappointed by Clevo stuff.
This PC, I bought it 2 years ago.
After, one year, I had already to change the LCD screen under warranty, due to white spots.
One year later, same things.
Sometimes, the USB 3 didn't work well. I have to play with the insertion at half on port, then full, to have devices working on these USB 3.0 ports.
The keybord!! The worst keyboard I have ever seen. Can't use key, like several users reports here.
I have to use USB combo mouse + keyboard, the only key on the native keyboard working, is F5.
The keyboard again. One day, 1,5 year ago, I cleaned up it with a slightly damp cloth, in a gently way...
BOUM! Broken key, ties broken... Need to change it ... Go for pay 120€
And, finally, the frames, annother piece of ****, all plastic (bottom)... that breaks itself, and specifically, the screw pitch. At this day, I have 4 screw pitchs broken. 2 for the screw of hinges, and 2 for the screew that lock the top part (under the keyboard) to the botton.
Thats starts to make a lot of concerns for a bare PC I pay 1300€ (add 346€ for 32 GB RAM, and add 190€ for NVME SSD 500GB and add again 420E for SATA SSD 2 TB).
That's not a PC, but a slot machine...
So, I'm very tired of Clevo brand.
First, AND LAST ONE.Last edited: Aug 20, 2021 -
Hmm.. sounds more like a lemon of a laptop than Clevo in general. I've had mine for a few years now w/o any issues you're describing. The panel replacement though so early would be an indicator of that particular panel being a bad one to begin with but, the keyboard issue is more of a quality control issue IMO.
If it works generally it might be time to consider swapping the 2 components out and selling it for something different. There are tons of people using Clevo and remarketed brands of the same machines w/o any issues. I have a different model with the 9750H processor that's working fine other than some weird occasional driver issues from Intel. Then again I've swapped out everything that can be upgraded from dual NVME drives, 16GB/32GB ram upgrades, WIFI to AX210, panel from FHD to 4K, and so on. Price vs Performance though they make better sense than the main competitors because you're not paying for the massive marketing budgets they spend to sell their stuff. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
You likely knocked the bit off during reassembly, though with a heat gun you could probably reset it back into position.
-
So, back to the main subject
In panelook.com, I get this
https://www.panelook.com/modelcompare.php?ids=35106,37089,30098,34302,34287
I've a slighty preference for the BOE NV156FHM-N4K to tell the least, even if it has no brackets.
Or the BOE NV156QUM-N44, which has brackets.
Along my search, I found there's 4 models of the BOE NV156FHM-N4K: without any mention of version, v3.0, v3.1 and v3.2
https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/screen-part-number/NV156FHM-N4K/
https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/screen-part-number/NV156FHM-N4K~V3.0/
https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/screen-part-number/NV156FHM-N4K~V3.1/
https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/screen-part-number/NV156FHM-N4K~V3.2/
can't find what the differences between them.
What do you think??
have you and idea about the model?? -
Don't order from laptopscreen as they send a compatible model instead of the actual model. Been there, done that, returned it. However if you're planning on swapping / selling the laptop then it's fine since it's cheaper to go through them though you can find them cheaper on ebay and other sites.
For the keyboard just pop the case open and look on the back of the KB for the model #. -
OK
For now, I've contacted 3 suppliers which seem to have the NV156FHM-N4K (BOE0804) in their stock
http://www.hklvhua.com/
http://www.aolylcd.com/
and https://www.kreplacement.com/
Perhaps, I'll can also contact this one: https://liancheng.panelook.com/
I'm waiting for their answers.

Hi,
I have the first answer from kreplacement.com.
So, I ask them about the NE56QUM-N66, to see what would be their answer
Where are you, dudes? -
Looks like you have the info you need for both the panel / KB to hunt things down.
KR will probably be able to help you source both items and any EDP cable you might need if there's a conversion from a 30P to 40P panel. With mine it was about $10-$15 for the cable I needed.
I use Linux as well for my "server" that allowed me to combine 5-6 devices into a single hub including router/firewall/switch/WIFI/DVR/NAS/Media/etc. It's more stable than windows ever would be in this use case for uptime and performance. I've done the VBVM thing before as well for some work laptops to get the performance from them and only open the VM for business stuff like e-mail which Linux kind of sucked at doing in the past or Office Communicator until I found a hack to get Pidgin working with MSFT servers properly. IT dept.'s don't support it typically because they've all been brainwashed into MSFT only when it comes to products. Linux is more powerful though when it comes to hacking devices like panels / cards / etc. because it can natively read the coding specs for them or with a simple app installed.
For the KB you have a few search options based on the photos and the 15F2 model info might yield more results when looking for something new but the 2 models numbers from Clevo can make it confusing but, IMO they don't make much of a difference in the results. One might be for the KB w/ RGB and the other might be w/o. Kind of depends on what's in the service manual.
https://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/ UN/PW: repo
There's a few sub models but, there's a manual in each of them. Very helpful in pinning down specs on machines and finding the #'s you need for replacements. -
I'm waiting kreplacement.com answer, and do the right thing in consequence.
If I need EDP 4 K cable, I'll go on.
Everything is not perfect in GNU/Linux Distro but I prefer them rather than to be spying all the time by MS.
For the games, I have a desktop PC with Win8.1 dedicated to that purpose. But, I have to say, I don't play a lot now, I guess it's boring me.
PS: If you use Linux, I recommand you to use BTRFS filesystem on your storage. It's simply & clearly awesome.
All my internal or external disk use BTRFS + LUKS.
Crazy thing!
I also have the SM for my model - and some more P95x models (very similar layouts, looks etc)
The SETUP is awfully ZEN, I mean, terribly poor (A SHAME!) if I compare with the one of the EUROCOM Q6,which is based on my model
https://gist.github.com/Brainiarc7/...8ff9335fd6#file-12-eurocom-q6-undervolting-md
So, all the options mention here, I don't have them in my BIOS Setup...
And, it will be helpfull if I could set and undervolt a little things directly in Setup.
I see in the forum, there's a BIOS for my model by Obsidian, can "find" here
https://forum.obsidian-pc.com/discussion/177/p950ep6-amp-p950er
.. but limited to the buyers of the Obsidian PCs.

BTRFS / LUKS were considerations but, ended up w/ EXT4 for stability / Radi10 and it's been smooth w/ no issues. Since it's Raid if you don't have a complete pair you can't read anything anyway. Data is secure w/ login to the system as well. The Raid and OS drives are separate as the OS is on a NVME for speed and the spinners make up the Raid. I have 5 x 8TB drives and was keeping 1 out of the mix for a "backup" of the raid but, just grew the system to 5 drives instead of 4 + spare as R10 according to most sources requires even number of drives. It's taking forever to grow from 4 > 5 drives in the set but, it's chugging along with the process. It will be interesting to see what performance gains/losses / capacity changes potentially by going against the grain. Since bringing the 5th drive into the mix though it seems a little more responsive even though it's syncing still. The drive temps dropped 10-20 degrees according to the syslog reports which is always a nice benefit for longevity. I've had them up and running for a couple of years now w/o issue other than buying 4 of them at once and having 1 DOA / swapped.
Even w/ 4 running in R10 the speed of them across the network was pushing 4gbps for transfers. 5 though could bump that to 5gbps depending on how the system uses the controllers on the drives.
I've been contemplating bypassing the sata ports on the MOBO with a M2 card that has 5 ports on it to avoid any potential bottleneck but, it's more of a unique setup than a need as I'm not seeing performance issues currently. Still an interesting thought / implementation idea along w/ cable management of the sata cables.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T3RMFFT ~$50 for something to play with.
The only problem now is if the 5 drive setup has an issue then adding a 6th drive that little card wouldn't have enough ports on it. -
Ok TechJunky,
very nice config you have
I also have a NAS I had mounted by myself
No RAID on it, but for the 2 SSDs with the OS Ubuntu - the 33TB Internal Disks (6 x 4TB + 3 x 2TB + 1 x 3TB) for DATA are on BTRFS + LUKS
BTRFS was set with compression (ztsd 15) and autodefrag - and snaphot (with external HDD).
Whitch is a great feature, for example, for backup, recovery and rollback - so, IMO, no need for RAID 1 or 10, or whatsoever.
Maybe I like taking risks?
Even without snapshot, you can recover data that seem lost in first place: I was faced to this issue with an USB HDD 5 TB (almost full) connected to my P950 which was almost unreadable, almost unmountable, or if not, files and directories was locked [unwritable] (issue related to my USB 3 ports previoulsy mentionned --> HDD several/multiple disconnected itself without doing anything special), and even after btrfs scrub / repair / checksum /crc fix commands was failed and do nothing, I was able to recover almost the all datas (that is to say, more than 95% I think - but approx. only 20 files at the most was impossible to recover at a full/readable good status).Last edited: Aug 24, 2021 -
Finally finished resizing from 4 > 5 disks and here's what it's doing for speeds.
I can't find the speeds from before expanding the size but, when planning the network side of it and going with 5gig vs 10gig due to the drive speeds made more sense for port density / throughput / cost per port. Adding another drive though would hit a bottleneck of 5gbps as it would exceed the bandwidth
Here's a system inventory though.
.
While this is showing the expanded available space my glances isn't showing the upgraded space still @ 14.4T vs the inventory showing a 4T bump to 18.43T. Meh, whatever...it's there and it's performing well. For the networking portion it shows the 4 port 5GE card w/ 1 @ 2500 which is the port to the AP and the bonded 2 ports for the CM @ total of 2GE which gives me speediests over VPN hitting around ~1200mbps on a 1gbps plan. For a $200 5GE card it's wringing out every single bit of speed from the cable company w/ the built in overhead they overprovision with.
You have a good setup though it's consuming tons of ports for those drives which was a consideration I was looking at when building this one. I had the ports / space if needed but, wanted to condense things a bit to save on space / ports / consumption and the WD Red's sort of had issues at lower capacities w/ the whole SMR gate that came out about them for the <6TB sizes. 8TB for price / TB was a good middle ground considering going to 10TB doubled the price/drive and 12/14TB were out of the question but a consideration as a backup mirror.
I went through 3 different cases / MOBO's getting to this setup though changing priorities and such. I still have room to add 3 drives in the hanging brackets, 1 more NVME, space for 4 x 2.5" drives all in a case that's quite compact in size (Node 804) I've been keeping an eye on the newer boards / CPU's though but, really don't need the upgrade as this thing barely gets taxed for performance as is. The only time it spikes for things running is when it's doing a Plex scan / commercial removal and that's very brief (seconds). Temps are good ~85F w/ 10 fans in place that are virtually silent.
I tried a couple of Raid controllers and couldn't quite get them working right even thought he BIOS saw them I couldn't really configure them properly. Debated whether to allow the MOBO to control the Raid or do it through *nix and well it's obvious which way I went there. Doing a reboot to BIOS to make changes didn't seem like the best option and the speed difference wasn't that big. Windows won't work as a router no is it stable enough to be used for one. There's a ton of pro/con evaluation depending on the use and such.
I'm not too worried about backups since the laptop has dual TB NVME drives in it that important copies are stored on and another TB NVME in an enclosure for backups. The server stuff is mostly got media / streaming (hoarding) in addition to the other functions. Mostly a POC / challenge to setup and manage as I don't do "IT" stuff much as my focus is Networking. Playing around with IT stuff though is kind of zen taking on new challenges outside of networking. -
For example, if you had ordered any of these (out of stock now):

https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/screen-part-number/NV156FHM-N4K~V3.2/
You would have received: "NV156FHM-N4K V3.2". -
@ LSB
LMAO! Those jokers just send what fits @ the same price. They have no vested interest in what you're getting as long as they're making a profit.
If you have a specific model in mind like the N4K then use KR or someone similar that is hands on with the product. There's a couple of other places that show actual stock but their prices are higher to the point it's worth saving/waiting from CN directly. -

Hello,
I'm going to give some news, not very good.
I've ordered & paid the NV156FHM-N4K + EDP 40P 4K Cable on kreplacement.com: 193$ (59$ for shipping via FedEx)
Payment was sent via Paypal on 08/26/2021, confirmed by kreplacement.com on 08/29/2021
I asked them to warn me when package will be shipped with the tracking number from FedEx.
Since this last date, NO NEWS!!VERY WEIRD!
Although, kreplacement.com has confirmed me they have the NV156FHM-N4K in their stock!
So what happen??? -
I can't remember specifically but, my order with them was eventually processed over a weekend and arrived by Friday via FedEx the same week.
FedEx processing / tracking did have some update delays but, it showed up on time / early. The delay might be processing / packing or their courier that picks it up and delivers it to FedEx for transit. Being in different time zones complicates KR's response time to questions but, usually I got a response the next day.
Does FedEx show having the package? Or is it still pending receipt from the shipper? -
I guess you misunderstand me: package was not shipped, not processed, not submitted to FedEx.
There's no advancement at all, no feed back at all, ''no nothing''.
I'll wait until tomorow 12:00 AM Paris, France time, after that, I call for a cancel and a refund.
No choice. Quite disappointed & annoyed. -
I've referred quite a few people to them and you're the first one to mention an issue. I wouldn't recommend them if I hadn't had a good experience with them delivering on time. Hopefully it gets sorted out. Check your Paypal account if you used it for payment and the tracking might be in there.
-
TechJunky
Already checked several times these last days: no tracking, only transaction number
Check at instant, idem, nothing, no answer.
Sad and bad. -
Hi,
Last news
As I have no news & no feed back from the seller, I've made a claim via Paypal for a full refund. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Well that sucks
-
NOW, that was sucked.
The seller just give me the FedEx tracking number.
Schedule delivery on Tuesday, 7th September 21. Before 12:00.
From the tracking, I see the shipment info was sent to FedEx on 09/01/21
If the seller gave me this info with the linked tracking number at this date, I'd NEVER escalate the issue.
That would never happen.
So, now I have the tracking num., I have closed Paypal's claim.
I prefer that, it's never with joy of heart, I do that.
Happy that it finds its way. -
Patience is a virtue sometimes.
I was going to say there's probably some holiday in play here but, they don't observe the same holidays. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
True, it was about 5 business days which is pretty standard for a lot of these places.
-
-
I felt this weird, and with no more info, I could'nt make precise idea about what happens...
i was confused...
Even after my first question via Paypal about shipment/process, I got no response at all after 24 hours...
That sounds strange...
Same thing, sends question the morning, response comes in the night (12h approx, less or more) after. -
It's going to be like christmas morning when it shows up though. Lots of stuff in the way before you get it completely unwrapped to see your shiny new toy!
-
The package is near now, at the International Airport Roissy CDG ...
Tech Junky likes this. -

I've noticed that as well with domestic shipments and not with foreign. Variety of couriers between FedEx USPS DHL. Shipping in general is FUBAR at this point. Normally USPS is the most reliable for me but, their system is so jacked up right now it's almost worth paying more for private service.
The logistics of these huge companies selling laptops though are where the delay is though. I can order a laptop from ebay and have it by the end of the week but, a new OEM takes 6 weeks or more? Then looking at the whole GPU fiasco of releasing them in chunks of inventory reminds me of OPEC controlling inventory to keep prices profitable for them. PS5's being in short supply but magically getting restocked by the thousands. SMH it's a cash grab by companies knowing people are putting up with it due to the lack of competition. -

- panel does not fit very well; so, there is 2 black bands on bottom (3 mm) and on right (2 mm) of the display.
- the plastic frame is difficult to adjust / to clip, I have to tweak for maintin it in place.
It's a bit awkward at first, but I'm getting used to it.
So, I consider that's it.
How can I mark the thread SOLVED? -
There's no "solved" it just fades off as people don't reply.
Glad everything got sorted out in the end though. As to the fit, it's always a bit of a gamble by mm's if you don't do an exact replacement. Give it a couple of weeks and you won't even notice it anymore as your eyes adjust to it. -
