Well this is expected couple months ago but nice find though :)

I think all of you agree with me that performance boost from Core 2 architecture will be less than 5% in gaming. Anything under 20% boost is in real world apps is nevertheless zero boost. We all expect DX 11 5870 (preferably in CF) with GDDR5 and nothing from nVidia cant (regrettably) beat Ati. How sad. If clevo stick with nVidia only, its going to die.... And non of us is happy to hear this. Clevo used to be ahead of comeptiion on matter of performance, nvidia is step back. In my point of view it is absolutelly nonsense tu buy ooold dx10 nvidia TOP GPU based laptop. Ati is waay ahead.

    WAY AHEAD? Do explain.

There are no 5870 results available aside from those claimed by Asus/ATI, and those are simply marketing benchmarks.

I expect the 5870 to be better, but do I expect to be way better? Depends. What do you consider as way better?

DX 11 may be better, and seems to offer less of a performance hit compared to DX 10, but is it necessary? Not particularly.

So Nvidia is in a lurch right now, will it stay in a hole forever? Hardly. Just look at where ATI was a few years ago.

Clevo won't die over sticking with Nvidia. No need to be melodramatic.

Okay here is why I think Ati is way ahead.

Ati has more advanced chips, smaller and more efficient. There ale problems with 40nm cores and bigger core=bigger problems in 40nm TSMC.
Ati is also cheaper than nvidia. Buy 2-2.5K dollar laptop DX 10 only in nonsense in my eyes. There are some DX11 games , another are comming out this year. Gamers limited on DX10 rest of their laptop life? - sad, very sad. Mobile fermi will be out in 12 months maybe later. There is 20% boost and this is somewhat NICE. DX 11 support is quite good as well. The only downside of Ati new GPUs is lack of driver support, which might be improved - we wish.

I am not fan of any BRAND, I dont care who made my GPU (I do care who made my CAR :)) but there is nothing that NVIDIA can offer against Ati HD58xx.

To the clevo future: If asus, acer, msi and other mainstream gaming notebook producers offer HD 5850/70, clevo will lose exclusivity of the fastest laptops in the world.

PS: HD5870 is probably 65W TDP which give is awesome OC potential.

I don't care how "advanced" a GPU is, when the mobile G92 is still keeping up in performance.
Explain yourself! You always know too much.

They're calling it an overclocked GTX 280M, that's all.

Seems like a stopgap to bridge the distance to the 5870.
