I recently ordered a Clevo W150HR (Pollux 1400) from Mythlogic, and I heard somewhere that the machine's bios disables the AES instruction set, but I've been unable to verify this. Can anybody confirm this for me? I'd like to run full drive encryption software such as Bitlocker or TrueCrypt, but would rather simply not if the AES instruction set isn't supported.

You can run CPUz and check the bar labeled "Instructions". On my P150HM with 2720qm, it lists AES as expected. Whether or not it's there depends entirely on the processor you chose (you didn't list it). The 2630 doesn't have AES instruction sets.

Bitlocker encrypted the main 120GB SSD in less than one hour, but your mileage may vary. -
I ordered the 2720QM, specifically for the features if offers over the 2620. Thanks for the good news!

Yet more good news! I tend to run WAY too many VMs.
