I am planning on buying one of these two models, in barebones form, from RJTech in the next week or so. To my understanding, these are the essentially the same notebook with the exception of the W25AEU not having any discrete graphics. I am not really in need of discrete graphics, however there is not an option on the site for a FHD (1080p) display on the model without discrete graphics, and this is a priority of mine. If there isn't anything physically preventing this from happening, would it be feasible for me to replace its default 1366 x 768 screen with the 15.6" FHD screen of my otherwise-broken W150HRQ lying around (the computer I'm replacing)? The W150HRQ was the precursor to these models.

    Thanks in advance! :)

Update: just found some more details on the official Clevo specification pages, and it seems like the W25AEU only supports the lower-res (1366 x 768) display -- but also only CPUs rated up to 35W when compared to the listed compatibility of 45W CPUs with the W25AE S and W25AE N models. Is there really an architectural difference here? It looks like once the discrete graphics are removed from the system, corners are cut in other aspects under the hood as well? I wish it were't true--looking for someone to confirm!

Sorry for vomiting all of my thoughts onto this thread but--I suppose my current question would be: would it be possible for me to replace a cheaper (glossy) display on my new W25AEF with the more expensive matte, 95% color gamut purchased with my older W150HRM? Just trying to save a few bucks somehow, and there doesn't seem to be a way for me to order the W25AEF without a screen. All advice appreciated.

There is always the option of the W550EU which does have only the iGPU and a 1080p IPS screen. I have only ever seen the W25AEU with the low res screen, but I can't see why it can't use 1080p, the connector looks the same.

Thanks for the reply. The W550EU actually looks perfect, I'm just not sure if there's anywhere I can buy it in complete barebones form (no CPU, HDD, RAM, etc) that ships to the US. Let me know if you know of such a vendor, though!

I think Mythlogic have it. You can take away drives on the config page, you would have to ask about RAM and CPU though. You can specify that with PWN here in the UK, so it should be possible.
