    Hi Everyone!
I'm actually hesitating a lot on 2 XMG laptop, in one hand the XMG A522 with 660M (based on W350ET ) and on the other hand the XMG P502 with 675MX (based on P9150EM).

I'm mostly using my laptop for editing photo (lightroom/photoshop), editing video and playing games (LoL and some Borderlands 2, BF3, NS2...) but I love to try out games, like Assassin's Creed 3, Guild Wars 2, etc. I will have a Asus 24" HD ProArt plug to the laptop, mostly for photo, but why not to play on it if I can ?

I like the the A522 because of the weight, the optimus and the price a bit cheaper. But apparently, the keyboard is less good and MOST important, the screen is less good and less dark than the P502, and more heat.
The P502 is more powerful in graphics, but more weight, better screen, better keyboard, less heat. A bit more expensive too.

I'm wondering about the possible evolution of a 2k euros laptop, especially the graphic card. Because for the moment i think the 660M is enough for me, at least for all the games in 2012. But I don't buy a 2k+ euros laptop just for 1 year and I want to know if in one year, I'll be able to put like a 675MX in it or not ? That would be great, but is it possible to upgrade a graphic card in those kind of cases, graphic cards that are not even released yet ? I thought it was the purpose of those barebones laptop. What about the warranty if I upgrade the graphic card, the SSD or the ram ? Cuz i plan to take 3 or 4 years of warranty...

If it's possible that'd be great, then only the screen and heat bother me for the A522. Does the screen is that less good that the P502 ? (reviews on notebookcheck for both)

think the W350 has the GPU soldered onto it, so you cant change it. the 150em is changeable for sure, with 675mx/670mx/680m/7970m. if the next generation also uses mxm 3.0b standard, p150em can also take those cards as well, given it stays within 100W

    ^Silverfern said it all.
i didnt know there was a difference in the screens so i will check out the notebookcheck review.

i always recommend upgrading the warranty even though mysn offer a standard 2 years which covers courier both ways, parts and labour (unlike a certain other company). whats a few hundred £$euro when youve just spent a few grand on a lappy.
over the years a lot of people on here have eaten their words arguing they dont need a extended warranty only for their 9800GT graphics cards to die and they have to pay out 300-400£$euro while mine was covered and replaced with a 260gtx the same day.

good luck with your choice sir_mulot

The base screens may be different, not sure, but upgraded ones are the same. If you are doing graphics, the 95% gamut upgrade would be worthwhile. It's the same screen on either model.

Everything is upgradable in both models except the graphics only in the 9150.

We wont see another 580M -> 680M jump this generation but more 485M -> 580M.

They do at Pc specialist and PWNpcs. MySN isn't the only seller.

If they offer it at all for any other model, they might fit it if you ask.

True but they don't have the same types of SSD, and I will pay in euros and ship it to France so, easier for me if me if it's coming from germany :)
I hope for an answer from mySN. :)

I'm currently more attracted by the W350ET, especially for the weight and PSU :p But it's so hard to choose :D

yes but they only provide the 95% gamut for the u702, like mySN.de or uk.

Pc Specialist or PWNpcs are interesting but they don't have the 975MX yet :(
