Temperatures under load are told to be 95-100°C which is allegedly "normal" in the Clevo W355SSQ. Now I wonder if it's worth to buy one with an 4712MQ instead?

    4710 has a TDP of 47W
    4712 has a TDP of 37W

A TDP is only relative and highly depends on the cooling system. But in this case, does it mean the temperature is lower, e.g. 85°C or similar instead? Anyone have first hand experience and actual values on it? Not sure if it makes that much of a difference.

You could just edit the TDP of your chip in XTU down to 37W if you like and discover if it makes a difference.

Yep, all chips pretty much follow the same voltage/frequency/power 3d surface graph so you can play within the region the chip allows.
