    I got this from Cyberpower PC and it is renamed the Xplorer x7 and it doesn't come with a backlit keyboard and I would love to buy one since it is so easy to replace. Does anyone have any idea of where I could get one for this model? Thanks in advance for any helo

    Have you checked it has a header for the led power on the motherboard?

    LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) require power to function. Therefore a back lit keyboard uses a second cable to power the LEDs. This means there needs to be a connector on the motherboard for this to plug into and work.

    While this is not your laptop specifically, you need a connection similar to the one labeled "2" in this picture (as Meaker said):

    The smaller cable is what supplies power to the lights, or LEDs. You will need that connection available on the board before you can consider replacing your current keyboard with a backlit model.
