My nicely juiced up Kobalt G860 (nick named "The Nuclear Power Plant" by my colleagues) purchased 3.5 years ago recently got a screen replacement. After year 1, I started to lose a couple of pixels and then a strange 'stain' type mark appeared out of no where on the screen (under the glossy layer). Anyway, was in the Chinese city of Shenzhen the other day and bought a new screen. Appeared to be identical, with all manufacturer and model numbers the same, except the revision (of course). However, this new screen just does not look right. The white is a little too blue (adjusted through Colour Profile) but the most annoying difference is that unless I'm looking the screen exactly in the centre, the other parts of the screen appear too light or dark (much more noticeable than before). So it suffers from a viewing angle problem. The screen is definitely by the same manufacturer, so why has the quality of the design slipped 7 revisions later?

And if you were buying a screen where would you purchase from?

    Thanks
