    Clevo W870CU - What is this supposed to be?

    So I am still tinkering with my Clevo W870CU.

    I replaced a dead speaker and powered it up with the top cover off when I noticed a light source:

    Visible Markings: RJ_PWR1, RLR1, 6-71-W8703-D03

    I always thought this was something to do with the centre speaker option but I guess not, what on earth are these two lights for? You cannot see any light source from the outside.

    That might be the backlight.

    It does not appear to back light anything however. The plastic it is pressed against is hard and thick so no light can get through.

    Ha! No it is blank but that is mystery solved, look:

    So for 10 years that back light has been shining but never been seen! Kinda sad really...

    Yep, they would ship them all that way as it's cheaper than different SKUs.
