Hello friends! I'm thinking of upgrading my laptop W870CU, installing a hard disk SSD for the operating system, specifically the 128GB SSD model m4 Crucial and leave as a second hard drive the Seagate Momentus 500 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-II for data and games.
The question I have is that the Clevo W870CU only supports SATA-II SSD and the HDD is SATA-III, there will be much loss of speed and worth buying the SSD.
That you thoughts about this SDD Crucial SSD 128GB m4 value for money? SSD model that you think is better?

    Greetings and thank you.

You'll lose some speed, but it's nothing substantial. SATA II supports up to 3Gbps transfer speeds, which is more than sufficient for many SSD's. For example, the sequential read speed on the M4 that you have is rated for 415MB/s. This works out to 3.3Gbps (415MB/s * 8). SATA III would be beneficial, but you'll still see massive speed boosts with an SSD over any HDD, even on SATA II.

I don't have any recommendations on SSD's though, other than the standard Intel sold by most resellers :)

Thanks for answering. Buy a SATA-II SSD HD and I will not lose much speed.

I'll edit the Thread and I was wrong and I have put the title of the thread in another language.
You know how you can edit the main title of the thread?
    Greetings.

SATA II will realistically give you speeds of about 260MB/s max.

If you want to change the title of a thread, you can use the report post function. ( [IMG])

Thank you all for the answers. I've seen the SSD hard drives are giving problems BSoD (Blue Screen of Windows). I see that this technology is not quite perfect. My laptop is always connected to the internet on and it would be very nasty BSoD see these problems, which may cause operating system problems. By now I hope to improve the SSD.
Thank you very much and greetings.
