    Hi,
i have format my notebook for various problems.
After i have reinstall all the last drivers i have a problem with audio.
I listen a sound without bass. The (small) sub-woofer don't take any sound! I have see in Realtek Audio HD software the various possibilities: 2.1 - 5.1

Before format i use always 5.1 with a good sound with a sufficent bass frequenz.
Now the sub speaker not take any sound but if i take the test of realtek audio hd i listen the sound-test.
What is the problem? The speaker it's ok but not work correctly.

    Please help.
    Thank you.
    Bye.

I'm not at home right now, and I use an external soundcard nowadays so might be a little out on the names here but this should solve your issue. (Don't think you need to set the machine to 5.1 to do this).

MAKE SURE you are using CLEVO's drivers and NOT Realtek's generics before doing this; they handle the speakers differently (or at least they used to).

Go into Windows playback devices, and select the speakers (should be listed with subnote Realtek High Definition audio, and most likely the default).
Once its brought up the options, toggle to the 'Dolby' tab, and enable 'Natural Bass'. Set it to 4/5.

The sub should now work again in tandem with the normal stereo speakers.

I had the same problem once, but on the previous machine, the M980nu.

What sorted it for me was... Start, Control Panel, Sound.... Make sure the speakers are the default device.

    Then... Configure.

This made it work for me, however the problem you have might not be the same. Just a suggestion.

    Hope this helps.

Just to add, I use the generic drivers from the Realtek website. Not sure what version they are up to now, but they seem to work fine. But I, like Alexrose1uk, don't use the internal speakers just coaxial cable to my AMP.

Yep, Sager's ones are fine, they're Clevo's ones again rather than generic Realtek.

And now I'm sitting at the laptop I can definately confirm the option you likely want is Windows Playback Properties---> Speakers, right click and chose properties. Go to the Dolby Tab and enable Natural Bass, as this will enable the sub for mid sounds even in 2 speaker mode.

What drivers are you using right now?
