Are there any way to have the Clevos have better fan control than default? As it is now, the fans ramp up very high very fast when gaming, and can barely sit in the room with the computer on.

Which model do you have? There are some software options depending on that. By and large, the fan behavior is controlled by the EC firmware, there's not a lot of room for fine tuning.
You might want to check the interior if you haven't already, too (clean out debris and/or repaste if needed). -
It's a Clevo P870TM1-G (with 8700K & GTX 1080). Bought from ClevoCenter with Prema BIOS. It's delidded, lapped and prepped with LM.
It's not dusty whatsoever. -

We all has this issue, you have to get used to it, this is a small price for the performance. I got use to it after few weeks and my wife the same. If you have a good cooling pad it will reduce the fans spinning speed and the noise.

You can also use CC2 to control the FANs (only for TMx models):

The Mod is set for optimal performance by default. If you need less power just set it to entertainment or silent mode instead and it´ll run more quiet by default.Last edited: Feb 14, 2019 -

Also bought and tried OBSIDIANS tools, and while they are far better, I'm having trouble to settle on a nice profile.
If I were to trade fan noise for heat, what are the critical temps for GPU/CPU to throttle? -
ull need to keep the GPU below 40ish iirc to avoid throttling altogether, otherwise it will slowly downclock incrementally. aside from that, anything below 90C for short term and below 80C for long term is fine.
for CPU standard throttle point is at or above 95C, but on 9th gen u can adjust up to 119C shutoff with 115C throttle temp -

After an hour of Far Cry: New Dawn, the CPU have topped at 75C and the GPU at 82C. Not bad at all. -
In the past the Clevo Control Center Fan Control has been OK other than a hiccup. The MAIN problem I had was even when you set a CUSTOM fan curve after a reboot the fan settings would revert back to AUTOMATIC. I was annoyed that at each power up or reboot I would need to go into CCC and change my fan control to CUSTOM to get the cooling I wanted.
Well, as of a few days ago (8/30) after a Windows Store app update to the Fan Control Settings app (1.40.0.0) I am please to report the CUSTOM fan profile STAYS selected after reboots or cold boots. You no longer have to open CCC to select your fan profile each time.
After this change I am very pleased! This is Clevo Control Center 3.0 v1.22.1.0dmanti likes this.
