Hi,
My bios is very slow to load, it takes about 10 seconds to go from cold to my bootloader (Clove).
My previous setup was MBR (windows 8) and bios booted immediately.
I'm not sure if it is caused by having multiple partitions, or because I'm using a GPT .
It's the same with both PremaMod & the stock clevo bios.
Is anyone else having this issue? Can anyone advise on how to help?

Are you sure that fast boot isn't disabled in BIOS? Honestly, I've seen 0 difference when using MBR and GPT at least in my Alienware when it came to BIOS loading time.. @Prema might have an idea about this

As the first one is muxed sata/pci-e there may be delays as it sorts itself out on boot.

I didn't know that! I have a mini-PCI-e wifi card I want to use. How do I fit it in that slot?
-

You can't, the slot takes either M.2 PCI-E or M.2 SATA devices. As usual they are confusing people by making the electrical and mechanical type of connector separate from each other.

Ok. Is there any way to connect my mini-PCIe device to this laptop you could suggest? An inexpensive adapter?
Reason is- I need a specific wifi adapter as it's the only one that is compatible with OSX (dual boot system). -

Yes, if you look on ebay there are adapters you could use that take a PCI-E m.2 to mini PCI-E.

Thanks- they look a little cumbersome in my case. I think I'll just have to return this one, and wait for the very rare "M.2" version of the card...

I think there are ones about the thickness of mini pci-e which would fit. Native would be better of course.
