I recently got a Alienware 17 R4, but wasn't happy with it, so I have started to look for something else.

It seems like a Clevo is more or less the only good option at this moment, and I made a "test" config of a P870TM1 at HIDevolution, but there are some options I don't know what they really mean:

    1. Prema Custom BIOS - Is the only option, but what is it really? Just a BIOS?
    2. Under Volted CPU. Is this good? Shouldn't under volt bring lower speed?
    3. GTX 1080 + Vapor Chamber Dual GPU Heat Sink - Is this better than standard? Why?
    4. System noise - I read it's loud, but then all gaming laptops are... is it really bad thou?

Prema bios is like, the must for every clevo laptop, it stops throttling, and have like tons of other exciting features!(stock clevo laptop bios is crap)

Undervolted dosent reduce cpu speeds that much but reduces heat VERY MUCH!!

If youre going for dual gpus, or have plans to upgrade to afterwards, then only go for vapour chamber, if only single gpu, then there isnt much difference!

Yeah, system noice would be something noticeable! But it performs better thrn what it sounds!

@Phoenix and @Mr. Fox can help you more regarding @Prema 's bios

    Thanks.

Are there customizable fan curves to help with noise?

I dont think so, but i believe the noise is acceptable as if you see the fan is cooling a freaking desktop cpu and gpu!

Anyways just use a noise-cancelling headphones nd you're ready to rock!!

You can adjust the FAN curves (within limits) with Clevos Control Center software...

What's the difference on these three?

    P870DM3
    P870TM1
    P775DM3-G

They look kind of the same to me...?

    That G means G-sync
DM3 use Z170 motherboards and kabylake cpus
TM use Z370 motherboards and coffee lake cpus

P870 and P775 use different chassis

P870 is heavier but it has a better cooling system, more I/O ports, up to 2 mxm gpus

Weight is of no issue. 870 seem like the best choice then.

If you can spend the extra and don't mind the weight then its good choice.

Yes, if you live in a world of binary absolutes then sure.

Well, if you're going for a single gpu, p775 is best(for its price difference)! For ports there isn't much difference, the p870tm1g and p775tm1g is only that p870tm1g has two usb type c (thunderbolt) and two killer e2500 lan ports, while p775tm1 has single usb 3.1 type c (thunderbolt) and a single lan port!

I dont think you'll need two thunderbolt ports and two lan ports for any gaming usage!

Nope!! And he haven't problem with the weight. + p775 lack the 3rd M.2 slot. And finally... Worse cooling.

Edit. And if you order outside @Prema partner shops

Its not only about weight, sir, it also can be "money". And i dont know, if any does uses even 3 m.2 ssds. So 3rd m.2 just to let it empty fr its whole lifw wouldn't be a great pan! Well, anyways, it all depends on the user's needs, but to justify, the cooling isn't the worse(as till if you didn't do the paperclip mod)

For "single gpu " it is sir,and the paper clip mod is to do "if" your heatsink is bad, which in case of hidevoluution, their QC will check them out! Also, editted the post, best in terms for its "price"

I use my p870km1 with a 1070 and my p775tm1 with a 1060, and cpu cooling is like just the same(cant say for gpu since they srent same, but i bet they'll be same, since there isn't much difference!).

Are there no benefit to add vapor chamber for a single gpu? I’m thinking better cooling even for one gpu?

The vapor chamber still works with a single GPU so better transfers the heat to all of the fin stack.

I ended up ordering a Clevo from ClevoCenter with all bells and whistles. They are Prema partner. :)
