    Greets!

I'm on the precipice of ordering my first Clevo to replace my constantly in need of repair M17x R2. I just wanted to ask some of the resident experts about some of my specific requirements and recommendations for them.

I travel every 2 weeks from Ohio to Colorado into the wilderness. Flying every two weeks. Once I'm there I am usually setup and not moving much. While I'm home the laptop will be a desktop replacement attached to external hardware. This will be a gaming laptop primarily.

1.) Has anyone had experience traveling with the 170 and 150?
2.) I intend to buy from LPC, and have read some issues with the keyboard and ghosting. Anyone weigh in on that?
3.) I'm still reading problems with the Ati 7970. My past experience with Ati is that good drivers will come eventually, has anyone had a good experience with the card so far?

    Thanks for reading.

Let me clarify. How sturdy is this chassis? I ask because my old M17x was not sturdy at all, despite weighing in at 22lbs.

Lol I wish. That's another reason I am asking, if the 170 is crazy heavy I might consider the 15.6" instead. Hungover flying with a heavy bag sucks.

well the 170 + pwoer adapter is just under 4 kilos, so that's 9 pounds, so if what you're saying is correct about the m17x that's half the weight already including the power adapter. I think that is much more portable than the alienware. From what I have heard the build quality is top notch, haven't received mine yet YMMV.

I got my Sager NP9170 last week. It has been everything that I expected and MORE. Extremely amazing piece of hardware. It's only around 10 pounds so it's not going to kill you when you carry it around. Battery life is decent but not amazing. About 3 hours for just surfing the internet. A little over an hour for gaming. My 7970 hasn't given me any trouble and you don't have anything to worry about since you'll be ordering after the whole AMD problem happened. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. :]

Build quality is by far the best PC I have had. I have a unibody macbook and those are probably the most rock solid machines out there. But my sager is better than any thinkpad I have had (hence the name). Very sturdy, no creaks, no flexing anywhere.
