Are the bluetooth and wifi mini pcie modules on this lappy fairly standard? As in, could i probably get something cheaper than eurocom wants for them to install it? From the looks of some pics i've seen, it seems as though both are easily accessible under the main panel (the mini pcie at the top right, and the bluetooth top centre, just above the memory) is this correct?

Coudl anyone describe (or even better, photograph) what the modules look like, or give me some part numbers from them?

Thanks all. I know this might seem silly to some of you, but i'm just starting grad school and need to save every penny i can.

The wifi cards is definitely a standard mini-PCIe.

The Bluetooth adapter might not be standard... so I would recommend to get it with the notebook.

I did exactly what you are describing. I ordered the m570ru from eurocom and ordered the wifi card and vista elsewhere at a much lower price. I got the intel 4965AGN wifi card for $44 CAD separately and it took longer to take all the screws of the back of the laptop than it did to actually install the card.
I would suggest getting the bluetooth card with the laptop though, because I wasnt able to locate one separately that was guaranteed to work.

    Good luck,

    D

    Awesome, awesome, awesome!

I think i'll order it without either, and i'll try to find a bluetooth card that'll work. That's not really an important feature to me anyway, and eurocom does sell the right one separately, they just charge a lot for it. If i find one that works properly i'll post and let people know.

This is so great. THANKS so much.

Any good ideas for filling up the regular mini pci slot? Is it true that this lappy can't take hyper memory? I guess that's a bios thing?

    Hey question:

Did the antennas were routed anyway to the location of the wifi card, even though you didn't bought the option?
