That's a little harsh. I'd give them a life sentence using one of those little Lenovo mouse nubs.

Man, that's a hard choice. I might choose death over the Lenovo eraser-head pointer piece of junk. I have had several ThinkPads with that red pointing stick thing and a Dell business class machine that had a similar design and hated them all to pieces.

We could also sentence them to a lifetime of having systems with just slightly less than the hardware requirements of whatever software they're using. Just exactly enough that it's annoying but where even with testing it's not ever obvious what needs to be upgraded.

Not to revive a dead thread, but the 8th gen (TM) models still have the same keyboard. Literally the worst and most painful thing I've ever had the misfortune to type on. I got this as a powerful machine for a customer that needed it, and I'm pretty sure I won't be getting the 870 for myself after this experience.

Just a warning to anybody that wants a usable keyboard in a laptop, you won't find it here, please, search elsewhere.

Not all have the same meaning about the keyboard. Could be better... Yees, of course.

I really like the Clevo laptop keyboard on mine, I have a newer model so I am not sure if that matters or not. It is a nice feel to it. I would almost describe it as a mech hybrid type, its sure not chiclet thank god. lol

775TM for me. Pretty sure from what I've read all the 7xx and 8xx models, and DM, KM and TM, use this keyboard. The touchpad is in the wrong area place and constantly interferes with typing, and the key layout is atrocious. Maybe the other models have a better keyboard. I really wish there was a way to replace the thing.

I like mine as well. I find nothing objectionable about it.

Could it be better? Yes, of course. There is always room for improvement on any product.

In fact, I think the keyboards have been just fine on all of my Clevos (P570WM, P750ZM, P870DM-G (2) and P87DM3) and I have had no reason to complain about any of them.

I do not like using touchpads on anything. In fact, I would like to see a big DTR with desktop CPU that has no touchpad at all. The buttonless clickpads are the worst. I refuse to even try to use them because they are so miserable without buttons.

I think they are still using the same keyboard.

I don't even have my lappy in front of me, only an external jeyboard, mouse and monitor, so I couldn't care less, but as far as I can tell, the keyboard is worse than misrable, of course I'm a writer so I can complain more than anybody, and it is probably only because if the height and that freaking low bottom button that wrecks everything, but even so, it is not a good keyboard.

For the record, my typing when angry is around 70wpm, so of course, I can feel the delay, even if simply because I'm not on mechanical.

I think that a keyboard on a DTR is as useless as it sounds, I wiull have an external keyboard for it anywhere I go.

Of course, this is the best keyboard I saw on a laptop thus far, so it is the best for a lappy keyboard.

Still, using a G810 is much quicker and gets me through with less mistakes and mistypes.

Ah, my trackpad is always turned off, I use this as a gaming laptop. lol not for portable use... but still easier to carry on airplanes than a micro atx build and monitor lol

Of course, I should mention this: I have not seen any keyboard better than this one on a laptop. Literally. If I was limited to laptop keyboards, this would be my absolute first choice, from what I owned and had a chance to play with for a longer time. It still is a laptop keyboard though.
