Hey guys, I was thinking about putting together a desktop killer, I was going to get an m18xR2 with a custom water cooling setup (planned) and dual PSU which were already done but was scrapped due to 980m's dying out. Anyway the main reason was that it is able to accept power past 330w. But since the Dell implemented forced OEM features newer models are limited to 330w. Anyway my main question is, are Clevo laptops able to accept more power than 330w?

And in the meantime yes you can use the AC100 or AC200 power joiner to input from two 230W or 330W powerbricks. This is the way the 1070SLI and 1080SLI config of the P870DM2/3 are sold
I found I was getting cutouts (screen black, but backlight still on, fans span up, then unit turned itself off after ~20sec) with just the one adapter on P870DM1 with 6700K + 980M SLI at stock clocks (Prema BIOS and vbios though which remove all kinds of power limits so those are a must for serious OCing). It was stable with a slight underclock on the 980Ms.
With two, I have seen draw from the wall at 601W and Prema said he saw over 800W at one point so yes these Clevos can definitely take the powah.Last edited: Feb 15, 2017 -

Right, Kaby Lake processors are only supporting Windows 10 officially. Anything older is going to be a pain to get to work, if at all.
