I was told by a shop that the quality Arima notebooks are usually comparable if not superior to Clevo. This becouse they usually have more RMA from Clevo clients than Arima.

What is your expert experience on this?

    See the poll.

Searching Google for "Arima laptop" brings up lots of links for batteries, but few links for hardware... Hmmm....

Maybe they have more Clevo RMAs because they sell 100x more hardware?

    Love my Clevo/Sager! :)

where are you from? if you're from N.America, chances are you won't even find Arima because there's few resellers willing to import them due to support issues. There are one or two models that found its way into Alienware and VooDooPC, but the sheer majority of ODMs those two use remain to be Clevo and Uniwill.

Arima is still not as well known as Clevo when we are talking about boutique brand notebooks... especially in enthusiasts' minds.

My friend had an Alienware (re-branded Arima), it seems nice, but I did not get blown away. He only got it because someone sold it to him for a really nice deal, because he was set to get a fully loaded Clevo M570U. I did not see a superior build quality when checking it out. It just seems like a Dell quality Inspiron in terms of chassis and features... which it did not have much of.

Clevo still remains king [for gaming notebooks and innovation] with this years announced beasts (M570RU and D900C), there is no other ODM out there that will come close for a while.
