I am in need of pinout information so I can make a conversion cable for the 40pin lvds connector on the motherboard to the 30pin on the back of the display. My motherboard model number is 6-71-p15s0-da3b. The display is n173hge-e11 rev. c1

I bought a replacement mobo off ebay for my mother's p177sm-a except it uses the same display connector as the p157sm which doesnt work with the 30 pin p177sm display. My dad spilt wine under the intake fans and ruined the original. The computer posts and reaches its sexy Zorin 9 login screen but I really need the display working as she doesn't use a desk and does work on the couch ONLY.

Your original panel is lvds right? and this mb use edp right? it is not possible to convert lvds into edp display. You need to have an edp display ( it is possible to convert any edp or lvds pin connecter as long they use the same connector which means edp to edp or lvds to lvds.)
Take a picture of this new motherboard for me, i want to see exactly if you have both edp&lvds port or just one of them.
