    Hi all,

I have a question and any help is greatly appreciated.

My laptop has the following specs:

XMG P703 PRO GAMING NOTEBOOK (Clevo p177sm) bought late 2013

    . NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096MB GDDR5
    . Intel Core i7-4700MQ - 2,40 - 3,40GHz 6MB 47W
    . 8GB (1x8192) SO-DIMM DDR3 RAM 1600MHz Crucial

Now my GPU has gone and I need to replace it.

is a GTX970m a viable option? If not what are the alternatives?

    Thank you in advance.

Seems like 970M will work like a charm. And since you have a 230W AC Adapter (at least it's supposed to come originally with the laptop), you can even put a GTX 980M.

If you can find a 970M for less than $170, go for it. 980M will be a good choice between $220 to $235.

Grab an 8GB ram stick for dual channel too.
