Ok, i just received today the 4x8 gb corsair vengenace ddr 1600 ram.
I got my p370em without ram. Just to start it i used 2 memory modules from my x7200. Looking in the manual just to see how i wil open it up, i came to the following lines:

    Upgrading the System Memory (RAM)
The computer has four memory sockets for 204 pin Small Outline Dual In-line (SODIMM)
DDR III (DDR3) type memory modules (see “Memory” on page E - 2).
The total memory size is automatically detected by the POST routine once you turn
    on your computer.
Two primary memory sockets are located under component bay cover (the bottom
case cover), and two secondary memory sockets are located under the keyboard
(not user upgradable). If you are installing only two RAM modules then
they should be installed in the primary memory sockets under the component
    bay cover.
Note that the RAM located under the keyboard is not user upgradable. Contact your
distributor/supplier for more information if you wish to upgrade the memory in the secondary memory sockets.

Is that really so ? How do i stick in the memory modules ? How do i open it up ?

I am not familiar with the 370, but it should have diagrams in the user manual that indicate how to take it apart. Without that, remove the panel at the bottom of the laptop and look for screws/tabs under the keyboard and cross your fingers. Have you looked for a tutorial on youtube?

Sounds like to me they confused Clevo laptops with other laptops. However you should be able to find the information in the warranty information for your system, or by contacting your reseller. I haven't heard of any other stipulations regarding the 370EM, and I'm pretty sure HWingNUT would have been all over that in his review the other week. (Believe he was the one to buy a system and review and then sell it on here)

It required a couple of extra steps, which to cover their asses they have called non user upgradable.

So long as you do nothing stupid, you could remove modules you put there, return the machine and they would not be able to tell.

    That's how safe it is.

Let me make myself crystal clear.
Those phrases are from the manual quoted.

I thought you were reading instructions that came with the RAM from the way things were worded.

You can install the RAM in there, otherwise it wouldn't have been possible to remove it in the first place to send it to you with none. As mentioned its listed an not user upgradable just because the extra steps taken to get to the slots under the keyboard.

It can be done. I popped open the review unit I had, and it's just like any other Clevo. Two under keyboard, two under main bottom panel. Piece of cake.

Yah it sems it was easy as pie. I just wonddred why did one write in the manual that its not user replaceble. The x7200 had a more complicated system to gain acces under the keyboard
