TL;DR: Laptop works fine with one monitor plugged in, all screens start flicking intermittently when third is plugged in. (only tested with unplugging older monitor). Not sure how or why this is happening.

EDIT: Solution That works so far:

I never bothered updating the Intel ME, but apparently so far that has worked and have not noticed any flickering. To those who are still looking.

    Hello all,

I have a question that I'm not sure the answer to and why this is happening.

To preface, I just received my laptop back from RMA, so hopefully hardware can be ruled out as a problem(hopefully).

Anyways, I ordered a brand new monitor in expectance of my laptop returning.

Before, I had just my laptop connected with this old acer monitor via HDMI (there is an adapter for this in the back of the monitor).

This worked perfectly fine before sending off my monitor for other reasons.

Today, I receive my laptop back and decide to plug in all my monitors and have a triple screen setup.

The second monitor is a newer model Acer, that is using HDMI to display port as there's only one HDMI on this unit.

However, as soon as I plugged it in, the screens kept flickering, all three of them intermittently.

At first I thought it was a graphics card problem as I haven't updated.

That didn't work, so I updated windows. That too didn't work.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled the graphics driver. That too didn't work.

So just randomly I decided to unplug the old monitor and lo and behold the screen flickering issues stop.

So with that problem isolated, does anyone know what could possibly be affecting those two? I tested each separately and they have both worked fine. Does it simply not have enough power to support the two, which makes no sense.

Anyways, any input would be helpful.

    Thank you.
