    Hi guys

I'm having a strange issue with both LAN and WIFI when under heavy load (usually 5+ mbps) that tends to bug out and lag out my CPU and even causes the fans to go crazy.

I thought it was only related to Steam at first as downloading steam games causes CPU to really lag, but it seems to happen even when I just download a few files at a time that are not from Steam.

Essentially, as soon as I start download or uploading anything or even running youtube uploads at high speed, the CPU goes nuts and starts giving me CPU based lag (like mini screen freezes for example)

I think it's driver related, but I don't really know what driver might cause this and where to get a better version of the driver. I have a p651 SG version of Clevo (rebranded as Hansung) and unfortunately can't ask the distributer as they don't speak English

    Thanks in advance

Driver is unlikely it the issue's present both wired and wireless (both would have to be malfunctioning). Try disabling firewall/antivirus/vpn or just check which specific program goes to 100% cpu usage.

Have you checked CPU usage to make sure that is the problem. When you are uploading/downloading you are also reading/writing to the hard drive. Do you have a regular HDD or SSD in there. Does that drive seem pretty healthy?

If you are pretty confident it is caused by one of the network devices you can download the latest drivers from Clevo http://www.clevo.com.tw/clevo_down.asp?lang=en

It sounds like High DPC Latency caused by a driver or drivers.

Open Task Manager > Resource Monitor > CPU tab. Look at System Interrupts CPU usage - Description: Deferred Procedure Calls and Interrupt Service Routines
Or Process Explorer look at Interrupts CPU usage - Description: Hardware Interrupts and DPCs

Check while you get CPU stuttering. See if the CPU usage is high from Interrupts / DPCs. If it is high go here and try this:

    like t456 said, it's likely the firewall/antivirus...
BUT, a buddy of mine had this problem, but only when using my router, i still didn't knew the cause, but, when i changed my router ( the old was really old ^^)^, it all went back to normal :).
So, maybe try on another router :)

Routers are often not built to handle high speed throughput constantly, that could be tripping up the lan driver has the stream keeps getting interupted.
