Clevo pm150 from specialist vortex III 7970M, need advice

Hello there, first of all thanks, i bought this "summer" Vortex III 15" laptop from pcspecialist with an AMD HD7970M.

It was working okay, but i had problems with the drivers, i had to make a clean install (linux) , not worked so i formatted my computer, so, the installation failed, (with CD drivers that come in the VORTEX III), but it worked, so i was playing that way.

Now i had problems with my drivers again, i was getting mad, so i started again to check out the forums, i saw windows 8 was okay for this graphic card, and the drivers were working, so , i began to install windows 8, i just tried to install my windows 8 drivers (from here CLEVO - Download i saw this drivers are better for VORTEX III), but when the installation almost complete , my screen goes black, 1 hour, and the windows restart with errors, obsly the ATI catalyst is not working, and my graphic card is not detected, i dont nnow what to do more, i tried to format couple of times but its not working.
I followed manual unistall method and more things, but no one is working
My graphic card is broken? or what?, i see other people work with this drivers and go fine.

I dont know what to do more, i am very very lost, at this point, i see my window and my laptop, i ll throw it if its stop working again

Hi, yes i just downloaded your drivers, AMD BETA and , AMD catalyst enduro 9.01

well, tried to install AMD beta, but during installation i got this screen every time, i have to reboot my computer, also when the screen is black, sometimes the mouse appear 0.5 secs and dissapear. i waited 1 hour.



AMD catalyst enduro = i can install them with warnings, world of warcraft is working , but, another games like EVE online isnt, when i play EVE online teh cursor dissapears and the desktop change the color to psicodelics colors.

I unistall the drivers going, to control panel, in windos, unistall, and the i go ro windos safe mode, i delete the folders, and the i delete the entries in regedit.

i didnt had more time to test more games at this time, but i think this is strange.

I would check your card temps. Artifacts like that usually mean a bad card.

 

Temps by Aida 64 playing -- >
CPU : 75-81C
GPU : 70-80
PCH Diode 84C (i dont know whats this means exactly)

Idle :
CPU: 50-60
GPU : 50-55
PCH Diode : 70-72

Those temps in windows 8, in windows 7 , almost same temps.

PD: i have Cooler Master Notepal V2 , working great too

 

Try running MSI furmark for 5 minutes and tell me those temps. I'm not too familiar with aida 64 unless you think that is comparable.

Did you get any odd colors or artifacts?

 

nope in this test, everithing was everything perfect, but in ATI tool airtfacts TEST , when the first run i get this, yello thing hmm


But if i close and i run it again it goes perfect, dont know if its a bug.

its say no errors, but dont know, perhaps program bug?

 

I'm not sure. I would try one more fresh windows install before i jump to any conclusions about the card.

 

okay , now when i arrive at home, i ll do a fast fresh install, what drivers should i choose? i am not sure what to install, 9.01? that one install but with warnings, i think i ll use that, dunno

 

okay, i did 2 fresh windows installs(went fast i have ssd), with different drivers, each installation went wrong when installing the AMD drivers, both went to black screen with the cursor sometimes appearing.

i have a bad drivers installed now or dont know rly, i am now with 9.01 again, i tried to play EVE online and crashed, no cursor and psicodelic colors in desktop, like the image i posted before , i found that error on EVE forums, it seems ATI problem also, i ll try SWTOR now, i have to download it, bcose, in that game, when i was pressing inventory etc, Artifaicts appeared also, so i ll try that.

Still dont know why i am getting a lot of problems installing the drivers in a fresh windows installation.

 

Your card is damaged. RMA it.

 

Does it only happen in game? What if you boot into safe mode where there are no drivers (stock vga microsoft drivers)?

Okay thanks you guys, i cant RMA it now, becose i am working hard now, but i ll send when i have another pc for work, yeah this occours me when i am only playing.

Anyway i ll contact pcspecialist for RMA, first try ATI and a lot of problems, but np, we will see how it works..
