The highest I can do that is still stable is 1055/1510. I tried so hard to get the memory closer to 1550, but no luck, I get artifacts and crashing instead.
Just want to know how this compares to over 7970m clevo users?

im still here anyway, the clevo HM vbios actually made a defective 7970m resurrect in my msi, until i get a replacement. So in away, it came back to me, all the effort paid off!

huh, really? id like to hear more details on that! (sorry for the OT

Nothing much, the card Never worked fine from starters, bad OC and such. With time performance and stability degraded a lot up the point that I wasn't able to post. If I was to, I would get a grey screen.
Yesterday I took the risk to flash clevo vbios overriding ssid and p/n, and card suddenly started working again.
It's not stable when OC it (freeze, shutdowns, bsods) but it seems to act nice with 900/1500.
Card has some issues, the previous owner told me he was able to play hours and hours in bf3 with 965/1500, so something happened in time.
Anyway the replacement should arrive soon, and hopefully it's from Second batch, as some dell users had problems with first cards shipped in their system, and my one was one of the very first manufactured:
That's all, sorry for the OT. -

Hi ppl,
I can benchmark and play some games with 1080/1500, but in one particular game (BF3) it gives me black screenSo I don't consider it stable...
So far I'm playing at 1060/1435 for almost a week, very stable and good temps
Best Regards to all -
The max I've pushed it has been 1060/1550. I think I can go higher, but I haven't tried it yet.
-
I can game on 1050/1550 with no problem. Played a game of metro 2033 (which utilizes the gpu 99% all the time) for like an hour and no artifacts or any other problem. Just higher temps caused by the massive overclock - max 91C, but right after reaching that it cools donw to 87C. I think I could clock it even higher, but I know that on the stock drivers i had a bsod on 1060 core. On these 12.7 betas 3d mark crash even on 1050/1500.

I just tried OC my 7970m but with no success. Even Increasing to 940/1300 made windows unstable after few seconds. Not sure why that happened since TEMP on GPU is only 38-41'c while in windows. even after OC. /sad.

First you want to use msi afterburner to overclock.
Set unofficial OC = 2 in the msi afterburner config file.
Then make sure your voltage is at least 1.0V or 1.05V (flash the required vbios). 1.075V gives best performance at good temps. -
For me the highest stable overclock setup using MSI AB is 950/1450, with 12.11p or 12.11 beta 11. Anything higher gives me BSOD.
Strange that last time i tried OC when i tried setting the stock clocks back i BSOD. I dont OC most of the time, dont feel like i need to for BL2 (runs 60+ fps average with physix low and all else maxed) -
I do use 1.075v version as we speak but
I've notice using GPU-Z that only! my clock and memory speed while unused is only 300/150. Is that normal? GPU temp goes down a tone to only 37-38c. Only problem and my worries are if I set it to 950/1450. It stays like this and temp goes up to around 48-51c while only in windows.
Is keeping the clock on 950/1450+ all the time even while system is idle safe for us? I understand system declocks the unused GPU to save on power etc. but do we risk damaging the card keeping in running always on 100%? -
You're playing games with that clocks right? You're using %125 of your GPU, more than 75W, close to 90C. People use furmark for temp testing, this will even make things worse. Idle is %0, probably near 10W. Which will stress your card?
Answer: Your clocks stays that way because PowerPlay doesn't do it's job while OC'ed. You can fix clocks using Afterburner's profile feature to save your clocks, OC only for games. -
yup, thats the thing about setting the value to "2" instead of "1". powerplay doesnt work anymore and ur gpu stays on 3D clocks the whole time. but as mentioned before, u can just manually downclock to 300/150 when ure not gaming and OC the clocks when u want to game. easy as pie
either that or make a shortcut to the config file and change the 2s and 1s whenever u need to

I found it dropped witb the enduro driver to around 1020mhz core.
