I tried to start up my clevo w230st today, and I got the message:

    Checking Media Presence
    Media Present
    Start PXE over IPv4

and this screen holds for around 2 minutes while the fan turns on full blast, then I get the sager logo. Also, when I try to restart my laptop it just hangs. What's the cause of this and how do I fix it? I read around and it seems to be BIOS related but I haven't touched the BIOS of my clevo at all, this just started happening.

Okay I fixed this problem by going to bios and setting windows boot manager to the very first option, but is this the right fix or is it simply just a bandaid solution for a deeper problem?

That sounds like the bios was trying to boot over ethernet?

Have you been having any other problems?

Windows boot manager is the UEFI boot option basically and sometimes a bios can select the wrong boot option for some reason. You just changed it to what it should be and is the proper fix.
