Clevo's cooling is not always superior to it's competitors, so to just assume it as common knowledge would be wrong. As for changing parts in your Dell you can do so without voiding the warranty on the rest of the parts of the laptop or the laptop itself.

I don't know the difference in temperature between the W860CU and the M15x. I wanted a link so I can see how big the difference is if any, I have heard the M15x runs a little hot, unlike the M17x.

Which is totally congruent, since the box is a little smaller than the 17...

I've been reading reviews, benchmarks on the Clevo, and well; I think that averaging 75~80C while gaming for long periods of time means good cooling...

I don't know temps for the m15x, but I've heard it gets the job done as well :)

    IMO, cooling-wise w860cu = m15x...
    performance wise w860cu > m15x

Clevo cooling is def. superior to AW. One of Clevo's redeeming qualities.

From what I remember reading somewhere, the M17x on average was "slightly" out-cooling the M980NU/X8100. I'll try and dig it up, I think it was you and PMAN discussing it somewhere.

Not sure if it's true, but then again, since they don't even have the same GPU, it's largely incomparable. Moreover, it's of no relevance in this case since we are talking about 15"s here.

This was back in the GTX280M/260M stage, so yes they were comparable, I'm referring to Romiyo's post.

The M15x runs a little hot from what I've read. So I'm sure it would be a few C's warmer than the W860 considering fzh's Furmark results.

    Everyone heard about -_- http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware/484622-m15x-5730-what-earth.html#post6260500

    Edited to avoid double post:

    So the Clevo Dimensions are:

    D/H/W = 263.5/42/374 mm, Weight 3.3 kg, Model Number Clevo W860CU-ATI

    1) Is that the real weight and do you find your personal clevo heavy?

    2) How CHUNKY is your Clevo? like the base more so. Because I lay on my bed and type and I want to know how comfortable that would be Ha. !

    3) Is it top heavy?

    P.S. Please vote http://forum.notebookreview.com/wha...vs-g51j-vs-w860cu-np8690-vs-hp-envy-17-a.html

Well, I guess you don't much of a choice then, unless you want to diy the 5870MR yourself.

You should probably talk to Dell Australia to see if they might introduce the 5850 later, but it looks like Dell intends to make you buy the Sager.

Well, considering that for Singapore Dell, the m15x always had only 240m and 260m even till now, and m17x R2 only had 260M until a little while ago, I would say look on the bright side.

Edit: Wait a min, 5730? I thought it's 5830MR, 5730MR is simply... I think it should be 5830MR and they made a typo.

I checked their website too. It does say 5730, for $50 more than the 240m.

No, it's probably the 5730 - they offer the 5730 in the U.S. as well. Only the HP Envy 15 has the 5830.

Well I think they will add the 5850MR option soon, it's just the same case as 240M and 260M previously, they have one option for those who actually care about performance, and another option for those who just want a cool looking case and perhaps don't even game at all.

W860CU: 7.38 LBs with Battery Pack
    14.75" (w) x 10" (d) x 1.65"~2" (h)

M15X: Weight with 6-cell battery (starting at) 4.08 kg (9.00 lb)
    14.88" (w) x 12.15" (d) x 1.92" (h)

No pictures, but their dimension are as above, the AW is 0.02" slimmer, but the size seems to be quite a lot bigger.

i feel the 0.7kg/2lbs more of weight should be considered when deciding between the w860cu and m15x. Its quite a difference.

I have a question here, how does the w860cu FHD compare to the m15x FHD screen? I know personally by looking at my screen its a thing of beauty, but how about the m15x?

Yes he has owned the W860CU and the M15x, so he would be as good a person as any to draw out any comparisons you may have between the two.

ok first of all does any of you consider the throttling issue for the m15x i had a xps 1645 and sold it for that reason
throttling exemple on Dell xps 1645: YouTube - Dell XPS 16 Throttling
when i was looking for another laptop i went for cleavo because it deliver what the cpu/gpu suppose to do.
I like dell laptop but actully i dont think we can trust them about those technology.
    m15x throttling forum: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...e-investigation-stock-clocks-overclocked.html
Another reason why i bought a np8690 is because the weight its not that heavy, its almost like the xps 1645 (i am using the same bag and i have some space on the side), about the alienware m15x (9lbs), he is like heavier as the G73 (8lbs) so whats the point to get a 15 inch who is like heavier then a 17 inch as almost same spec cpu/gpu. About mats you paying way MORE money for Dell then Cleavo stuff im in canada for me dell alienware same spec as cleavo was like 500$+.
    (sorry about my bad english)

After reading some problems of other forums, I think one more pro of Sager/Clevo is complete compatibility with manufacturer driver. You don't have to use/wait for specialized Sager/Clevo driver, you can just go to nvidia/AMD site and dl the latest driver and it will work perfectly.
