    I just ordered the 870 from kobalt, I fitted it with i7-720qm, 5870m, 320gb 7200rpm and 4 gig ram

Now its supposed to have 50 min battery time when idling, thats the same as the D900F.

Why don't they just make a 12 cell battery for the clevo 870 aswell? That would actually give it some decent battery time(suppose it had either 6 cell or 3 cell, while D900F have 12 cells)

Because it's half the size/weight. They designed it to still be somewhat light, it can't fit a battery that large.

Is it possible to purchase a 12 Cell? If it is possible, is it worth it?

From a vendor that I wish to purchase the W870CU from, he stated the battery is a 9 Cell.

Specs that I want to order is similar to Spookybear.
    i7-740QM, 500 Gb (7200RPM), 4Gb Ram, nVidia 285M
