    Clevo x8100

    Would it be possible to build a Clevo x8100 with desktop components such as an intel i7 x980 CPU or would the Clevo x7200 perform better anyway?

    The x8100 can only use mobile processors (Socket G1 988), only the x7200 can use desktop processors in it (Socket B 1366). Performance wise, yea the desktop models are going to pack more punch than the mobile equivalents. Although the 920xm and 940xm are some sweet processors.

    Would upgrading the Clevo x8100 motherboard make any difference?

    So pay CLEVOs RD a lot of $$$$$$$ and ask them to develop a desktop CPU motherbord,heatsink,BIOSEC........for X8100 :D

    next top model(X68?? 8core16thread,quadruple-channel DDR4)in future will still not be X8100/M980NU type
    maye X7200 or a new shell
