I replaced the original G-sync enabled panel with a 4k non-G-sync panel a few months ago. After installation, the Nvidia drivers were unable to recognize the non-G-sync 4k screen and my 980Ms in SLI. I contacted @Prema and he sent a new system bios to flash. After that the Nvidia drivers were able to recognize both the 4k screen and my 980Ms without issue.

Today I updated my Nvidia drivers with a clean install using DDU to 376.33 and I ended up in the same state as before, where neither my screen nor GPUs were recognized by the new drivers. I reverted back to the 365.10 drivers (which I was using prior to the update) and that seemed to fix the problem.

I also tried installing the 375.86 drivers and had the same problem.

Does anyone have any similar experience when updating the Nvidia drivers past 365.10 with a non g-sync 4k panel in a DM-G laptop?

Or does anyone have any ideas on what else I could try?

I have B173ZAN01.0 retrofit into P870DMG with 980M SLI for 2 months now.

I have premamod BIOS on the laptop and premamod vBIOS on my 980M's. I originally flashed the Gsync version because then it had the stock gsync 1080p75 panel. I uninstalled and DDU'ed the geforce drivers before installing the panel. They detected fine straight away. Including Gsync which is present to this point in time.

I have kept the drivers pretty much up to date. On 376.19 now, no problem like yours.

The previous owner did the same upgrade with the same model panel and had no Gsync, and never mentioned any issues; http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...p870dm-g-from-fhd-to-4k-picture-guide.787821/

Though I have others... see my thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/weird-screen-issue-diy-4k-auo-screen-into-p870dm-g.800428/

Weird. I have been using the non Gsync BIOS for months now. I also retrofitted the panel myself. Haven't had a single problem. I never used Gsync so gladly gave it up for brightness control.
