To showcase how fundamentially broken clevos software is here is a little video recorded with my phone. I only mademy custom drivers to fix Clevos absolutely garbage and uncalibrated XFI MB 3 software and the sound went from Tinny garbage to actually good. Sadly my phone microphone doens't really capture the goodness of the speakers after the mod and somehow does remove the tinnyness of the garbage drivers, which is interesting.

But despite that the difference is even on my garbage mic so noticable that it showcases that whoever is in charge of the software is completely incompotent.

    That's pretty sweet!
I'm pretty disappointed with my speaker/sound configuration as well; I simply avoid using the speakers in favor of headphones, or play music/demos from an ancient Inspiron while I work on my P650.

My P650 came with lots of fancy stickers highlighting its "great" Onkyo/XFI MB5 combo, but I'm thinking the stickers might be the best part of the deal

Can't really fix your notebook with my drivers since they are very very specifically for my notebook, but I can see what I can do in order to make your 2.0 system somewhat tolerable. The speakers themselves aren't the exact problem, it's the way clevo doesn't give a damn and throws software that needed to be finetuned but they didn't bother. The software itself isn't bad it's just not for the system.

Hey! That's great! Totally unexpected, but thanks for the offer!

I really enjoyed looking through your bumpin' laptop stereo post, and I'll leave another comment there not to derail this thread ;)

Ok, had to make a new video because apparently the old one had some copyright issues. (lol).

    Ouch....

The bass is absolutely dead on that notebook. All you did was add a bit more volume, the sound itself is the same quality.

    1. The sound is much clearer now.
    2. P375 has, I believe, bigger subwoofer than P6xx.
    3. I've also recorded with a phone, so yeah, the difference is less hearable.

I recoded with a phone from 2012, also I'm pretty sure the P65x series does not have a subwoofer.

also from what I can tell the sound is simply 15 DB louder, nothing more. Nothing has really changed at all. Bass hasn't improved, still tinny, unbalanced sound.

I'll look if your model has a subwoofer or not, because it might be like the 770DM series, where some very specific models actually have a subwoofer, while most don't.

EDIT: jep, your model has a subwoofer. Pretty cool that people started building subwoofers in the P65x series. Sound is still poop tho, the subwoofer is barely even used at all.

I just chekced out the song with stock drivers, notebook sounds like poop, bass is completely lacking and it's just unpleasand to listen to to be honest.

You don't have to ensure me if laptop I have has "subwoofer" (don't fool yourself, there no proper subwoofers in laptops) or not. Yours just has bigger, hence better one. It doesn't matter if the phone is from 2012, or 2015 (mine), phone mic is **** either way. I can hear the difference, yet cannot hear the bass on your videos, but it's not hard to take your word for it.
Could you elaborate on actions you've taken to mod XFi software?

I don't use the XFI software at all. I made custom drivers and use custom software. Can you make a picture of your subwoofer?

Also, in when using stock software it sounds as bad as your notebook. So size doesn't matter in any way shape or form when using stock clevo software.

Also, in the video, despite terrible camera mic, the difference is quite significant, but you need to use headphones. For instance you can switch from 31 seconds to 2:00min and you'll hear the very clear difference for instance.

That's the stock one the P15x and P17x series uses. Even that thing can produce a somewhat usable sound. It's design is actually not that bad, considering it has the whole to improve it's bass. I'll make a video with my podcast mic, to show the sound differences as accuratively as possible. You'll hear, that the subwoofer size really isn't the problem here.
