What happened that lead to it? Any symptoms or changes?

I've been experiencing bsod consistently lately, at first I thought it was just a corrupt os or outdated drivers so I did try some fix like sfc dism, updating drivers, testing memory for errors etc. Unfortunately those did not stop the bsod.

Since I do routine clean up of my unit every six months I decided now is the time so I did and I even repasted both cpu & gpu while also replacing all the pads.

After doing all those this then this issue happened. I did not use LM btw.

Memory tests don't always catch faulty modules. What are the errors? Have you analyzed the minidump files (if any were generated)?

I think it is signs of corrupted BIOS, try a recovery of BIOS using USB. I do not know the hidden keystroke to activate BIOS flashback but you can ask Donald or someone.

A CMOS can get corrupted not the BIOS itself (unless you are using a messy one to begin with). To reset the BIOS just keep holding the "FN" and "D" buttons pressed while pressing power once or remove the CMOS battery.

Otherwise I would suggest to clean the contacts of the components with some alcohol to make sure everything still makes proper contact after the disassembling.

Any other odd behaviour from the system like fans spinning loudly or not at all?

Do you have the text you see on the BSODs?

Could have been poor contact on the vrm heatsink area.
