I recently purchased this model from Pro-star about a month ago, and I'm generally happy with it although I have questions and some small things that I'm unsure about.

    1) The vendor I bought this laptop from doesn't seem to come with the Prema bios everyone is talking about? Is that something that I should try to obtain, or any other Bios or EC firmware I should update to for that matter?

    2) I ran Driver booster and had a few drivers that it recommended me to update, but I'm unsure about them and their function. Should I update these or just stick with the drivers from clevos website?

    3) I noticed the power button always emits blue light when my laptop is powered on, which can be distracting sometimes. Is there anyway to turn it off along with the keyboard light together?

    4) When I press Fn+"-", Fn+"+", the dim and brightening for keyboard lighting doesn't seem to work. How can I fix this?

    5) Sometimes(about 2/10 times), when I boot my laptop, after the "Style note" logo loads, it just becomes a black screen and stays there unless I restart again manually by pressing the power button again. Eventually it works but it can be annoying as this happens intermittently. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

    Thanks in advance!

1 - Nope, sorry. You may ask Prema (a donation can help) for the BIOS, but it is not guaranteed and may break warranty to flash it.
2 - Generally chipset drivers are not a bad idea to update, but this one's on you. Feel free to check via another method if the updates actually exist, I don't know how reliable driver booster is.
3 - I don't think so. It generally means the machine is on, and that's its purpose.
4 - Talk to Pro-Star. This is either a Clevo Control Center or BIOS/EC issue (or both).
5 - That one I have no idea about.

    1. The Prema BIOS for these machines is not available yet and is at least weeks, if not months, away.
    2. I never trust those driver update programs. If your system is otherwise working properly, don't touch any of those. The only one that typically needs updating on a regular basis is the GPU.
    3. There's no way to turn that off. If it's bothering you, put a piece of electrical tape over it.
    4. Those controls are only available if you have Clevo Control Center installed. If you need to do that, install it without the Intel XTU components, as they can play havoc with the system's fans. To disable that, download CCC and extract the file to a folder. Go into said folder, and edit the oem.ini file, find the line SupportXTUFanTable=1 and change the 1 to a 0. Then run the setup program.
    5. That sounds like a BIOS/EC issue. You'll need to talk to your retailer about that.

NEVER EVER use any of these shady driver updaters. only get the drivers from the official manufacturer's site or use Obsidiab PC's tool for a faster download, that is the only legit driver tool for Clevo systems. They are untouched drivers and for your laptop, just select your laptop model and your WiFi card type and go through the steps to update the drivers:

Do not forget to keep updating the tool itself in the "About" tab.
There is a lot of new stuff planned for that piece of software.
