Okay so I recently changed my order to a 2760.. I'm confused is it IB or still SB?

    Sager - 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM, 2.2-3.1GHz, (32nm, 6MB L3 cache) (Supports 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors) (SKU – S2R174)

    Sager - 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-2760QM, 2.4-3.5GHz, (32nm, 6MB L3 cache) (SKU - S2R202)

Should i change my order back to a 2670QM for IB? Is IB even released??? Will there be a big difference between the two??

IB isn't released yet. Thats still SB. The main difference will be IGPU performance so will affect you more depending on what model you are purchasing.

Wait, so you have to forgo VT-d in order to guarantee you can upgrade to IB?

What do you mean by that? If the Ivy Bridge/Sandy Bridge part you buy has Vt-d support, then you get it as a function of the CPU. As long as the chipset + CPU support it, then it should be enabled.

The 2670QM (Sandy Bridge) doesn't come with Vt-d because Intel chose not to include it on that model. Placing an Ivy Bridge chip in later that DOES have Vt-d support would let you make use of it.

It doesn't matter what SB cpu you put into the P150EM or P170EM. It will still support an upgrade to the IB cpu.

If the motherboard support IB, you can upgrade anytime when it is released at your own discretion. I believe both SB use the same motherboard.

Anthony@Malibal, why cant I send you private messages? I send Malibal a msg on the forums but have not receive a reply and was thinking of sending it to you since you seem rather active.

I need to buy the 170em asap.
