So I'm over looking at Malibal's site, and I configured a P150 and P151 with identical specs (including the 6990M on both), yet the P150 is $150 more. What does that $150 get you? I've been trying to read around, and the best I could tell is that $150 buys you a rubberized surface on the case... is there something else? Is it worth it, or should I just get the P150?

Nope, saw that thread, didn't answer anything. The thread suggests the difference is the coating and the power brick, but the images on Malibal's site are identical for both machines, and when you select the 6990 on either machine, they auto-upgrade you to a higher wattage power brick. So every indication is that they are identical machines, except one is more expensive. Also, that's a rep from Malibal commenting in the thread, so same company.

The difference at stock is as was listed in that thread.

P150- 180w power supply, rubberized exterior, glossy screen
P151- 120w power supply, plastic, matte screen

You can obviously upgrade them to negate the power supply and screen differences.

Other than the exterior differences, they are very similar under the hood- they share the same motherboard and most of the same parts. In the past, the P151 did NOT have upgrade options for anything beyond the 560m, while the P150 could do the 6990/580/6970.

Ok, so if I read you correctly, the sole difference between a P150 and P151 with a 6990 is the rubberized coating? Is that really worth $150?

One other difference that I've noticed is the option for the screen. The P150HM offers the 95% Matte screen or Glossy. The P151HM offers the 95% glossy only. I have been eyeing both configurations as well, and a third option with the 150EM when specs are finally released. I would take the 151HM hands down if they offered the 95% matte screen as an upgrade or a regular matte screen as an option over the glossy, but I've talked to Malibal and they will not allow you to make the switch.

Makes it an extremely difficult choice. I'll be taking this Lappy with me on deployment to the sand box where the sun isn't going to be nice to that glossy display. I've even considered buying a AUO matte screen and replacing it myself.

    Again the option is yours.
