Has anyone tried the DVI port on the back of a 9260/1?

Just for kicks I tried connecting a DVI/VGA gender-bender to the DVI port and it wouldn't fit.

The DVI connector has a bank of 24-pins (3 x 8) and a blade pin. My DVI/VGA gender-bender has the same, plus four additional pins split into 2 pairs of 2 above and below the blade pin.

So it doesn't fit into the back of the 9261.

I'm wondering if the 4 superfluous pins are just that, or are they something else?
