Ok after months of debating if i should get a m15x or not, i came up to the conclusion that the NP8660 would be a much better deal (but i still might change my mind again). so i wanted to know if there are any known problems with the NP8660? like how the m15x has the hinge problem

    none really.

make sure you get the latest Intel SATA drivers (if you are using Vista) so that the HDD wont need be constantly active.

other than that, there are not issues with the build quality or GPU temps like in the M15x.

if you look at how many x alienware customers (including me) there are on the sager forum then that will give you a very good idea which way to turn.
save yourself the stress most of us went through and press the order button for the NP8660

The NP8660 seems more reliable than the .m15x based on user reports here although this laptop isn't perfect either (battery life, CPU whinning) although when comparing pros and cons, this is your best bet. Just consider the Asus G50vt in your purchasing process :)

Is the 30 days No Dead Pixel Insurance really worth the extra $100? how many of y'all received your NP8660 with dead pixels?

you are not actually paying for just the pixel guarantee... you are mainly paying for the shipping costs if there are any dead pixels.

When you get the Sager notebook, you automatically get a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.... so you can return the system if you are unhappy with it in anyway... like dead pixel.
    - but you will have to pay for the shipping costs

its usually very uncommon to get a dead pixel since the systems are checked before getting shipped out... but once in a while a small number of systems will get them.
