I just got a Sager 2098 and one of my only two issues is the daggum glossy shell. I hate glossy, fingerprint-catching, easily-scratched, dirt-magnetizing shells with a passion. Too bad the rest of the laptop makes up for it, hah.

Anyway, in the course of prepping our son's nursery, my wife and I got some textured window film to scatter the light coming into the room. It ended up being some pretty darned thick stuff, relatively inexpensive, and goes on with just a little water spritzed on the backing. It has held on well, but will peel off cleanly without leaving a residue.

Long story short, would I be making a mistake trying this as a covering for the back of the LED portion of the shell? This laptop's a keeper (heck, it's faster in many tasks than my C2Q desktop with 8GB of RAM) so I'm not too worried about leaving a little sticky gum residue on back (which i don't think would happen). What do you all think about this?
