Hello, just considering a major step up from my ASUS ROG G752VT (970m).

Found this Clevo on my local CL, and it has been posted a few months so I might be able to get a good price. It was probably one of the first notebooks with a GTX 1080, since it still has the 6700k cpu.

I would post the link, but I'm not sure that's allowed. But I'll post the relevant specs at the end.

Here's my main question: Do I need to be concerned about the BIOS?
    1) This thread worries me: ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...acquire-premamod-for-p775dm3-g-laptop.803068/)
    2) The text of the ad seems to be related to the above thread; see below:
Please note that the built-in graphic card IS DISABLED ON A BIOS level by manufacturer and there is no way to turn it back on, that also mean that on start it will sort out graphic drivers.
In general, I just do not know what that means. I might need an introductory lesson here. I've really never done much in BIOS short of following direct instructions on changing simple things.

    Ram - 48gb ddr4 (2x 16gb, 2x 8gb),upgradable to 64gb. Ram can be overclocked and supports XMP mode.

    17-inch G-SYNC display 75hz 1080p IPS

    Bonus Question:
Recently came across a Eurocom Sky XC4. Please share your opinions on this option, as it relates to the above.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. We got down to $2200, but I couldn't quite convince myself to pull the trigger.

what a shame! that seems like a good price,i paid £2400 here in the UK, i love mine, but i have carried out a few mods to improve cooling and delidded + liquid metal and the improvement was well worth it,what are you considering now?

I guess what got me is that it's probably getting close to 2 years old now. $2200 USD seems like a lot for a used laptop.

At this point I've decided to just wait and stay on the lookout.

a valid point! still have you thought of specifying your own build with one of the many resellers? if you do, just make sure it has a Prema bios as its crucial to allow your machine to operate at its full potential, there are many out there that have Prema's brilliant work. good luck!
