What is the difference in the control panel basic settings if you choose Entertainment vs Performance? Which is best for maximum CPU/GPU performance?

It's a legit question, cuz I see 0 difference between the two modes.

What do you mean by "see":

    Observe during normal use?
    or
Specific benchmark scores are identical on both?

As to what changes, possibly the fan control scheme, core parking policy is one I've noticed, and I found an overclock wasn't applying properly one time I had it on Entertainment (it would look like everything was applying properly until I was getting the exact same CB r15 scores and power use reported for 4.0ghz through 4.6ghz and all speeds in between)
I don't use CCC any more, Obsidian tool is far better and does everything (except control the lid lights but it's still in beta so I'll forgive it for now)

Benchmarks, exact same outcome whether using entertainment/performance. Maybe as you say there are subtle differences, but I have also moved over to the Obsidian Tools.

Fan curves and power profiles, for entertainment you can imagine the lower end of the fan curve being a bit less aggressive to help keep noise down during playback of video.

Apologies for the hijack here but I've tried to install OBsidian tools only to find it was specifically for certain laptops and there was no way to purchase it .. I'm happy paying but couldn't figure out where or if only the free version is acquirable if your PC wasn't sold by the mob that make Obsidian

Going off a bit tangent here, my unit came from HIDevolution, and I'm currently using CC v. 5.0001.1.62. I have never tried updating it, and I don't quite know for sure if I have to. Is it the same as CP 2.0? I wonder what's the best recourse for my unit.

"2.0" isn't exactly a version number. For the P750TM1, I believe the version ending in 1.76 is the most current release.
