Are there any guides/instructions on how to splice a PSU to work with a different plug type (in my case Dell 240W PSU on Clevo P150EM)? Or even better, is there any adapter to do so?
I was able to get my hands on a very cheap 240W Dell adapter, and know that people have used it on P150EM/P170EM/etc., but can't find any guides or instructions on how to do so.(I know what I'm doing for the most part, but could use a guide).

I posted a guide just under 2 years ago about replacing the connector cable from the brick to the machine.

EDIT: Instead of modding it, do you know if this adapter would work? -
It actually does. I have previously modded a 240w dell adapter for my old MSI laptop, then I discovered this connector and immediately got one. It works exactly right.. and it does not even look bad.
You can get it on ebay for cheaper shipping if I remember correctly. -

Just be careful of pulling large loads though the thinner gauge over long periods of time.

It's more a combined gpu/cpu thing. You may want a power meter.

But I think as long as the wire is short enough you don't have much to worry about, which is the case here I think.
I've done some stupid stuff with mine and it's alright. -

Length is not so important in this case since its more about heat over such a small wire rather than voltage drop for the psu.

Also, you mentioned a guide you put together about modding PSU connectors. Was it a general guide or for a specific model? I'm trying to figure out what to search for so I can take a look at it, since nothing is showing up in forum search. -
I still have mine working anyway, and I've stress tested the old mod setup and the new connector and I haven't had many issues with it, although after a while the mod gave me a hard time at the end but it was mainly due to my bad soldering skills.
I think if you're not very familiar with what this mod requires you should stick to the connector because you can end up ruining the wiring of the PSU. -

Replacing the cable only requires rrudimentary soldering skills. I would never splice the cable with a new connector.
